Hunky brothers

There's six brothers, unless I missed someone. Three of them run KGI which is an ops company. They do intelligence gathering, rescues, etc. Two of them are still in the armed services. The sixth one is Ethan who is an ex-Navy seal. Not sure what he's done the past year when he thought his wife was dead. On the anniversary of her death he receives news that she might still be alive. He calls on his brothers and they form a rescue mission.

There's action, a mystery (who wants Rachel dead and why) and some tame love scenes. It's also about the relationship between Ethan and Rachel, before and after her kidnapping.

Great Series

I originally read this book but decided to pick up the audio version. Harry Berkeley does a great job with the story. The Kelly clan stories are all full of action and romance. Maya Banks is a great writer with a good sense of pacing. She builds enough intrigue you keep digging deeper and deeper into the story waiting for what happens next. She doesn't overdo it, it's just the right amount of action to balance out the romance and keep it a page turner. Highly recommended.

Another book?

This is a new author for me. I liked the first book, sort of. I'm not sure if I want to try another one or not. While the characters were deep enough and believable, I kept looking to see if the book was ever going to end.. Maybe the next book will end sooner .... or not.

Loved it!

Great character development. I especially loved the themes of #Family #Integrity #Faith #Trust #SecondChances. I liked that the characters weren't perfect, they were complex with realistic everyday struggles and the fact that they overcame them in a practical timeline and method.

The narration was superb. The inflections were made at the right times. It felt natural and made for easy listening.

Overcoming Loss

This is an amazing story of survival, overcoming loss, and bravery in the face of danger and grief. I look forward to learning about the other members of KGI.

Great read

Love this story, how sometimes you have to hurt people, to give them peace, when you don't have the strength to do it yourself and then sometimes how love overcomes all obstacles

Like this series

I listened to the later books first because they were the only available on audio and liked them all. This one was no exception. I like the characters and story lines of each book. The heroine in this one was brittle but still strong if that makes sense. Not an easy balance to keep.
I'm waiting for the rest of the series to be put on audio. My eyesight is very poor and I can't read printed books so audio book mean a lot to me.
I love Harry Berkely. I try not to let a bad reader ruin a book but when there is one you like this much it makes the book better.

Disappointing

IMO this story is riddled with unbelievable parts and pieces and overstuffed with unnecessary parts and pieces. Rachel is the least believable swinging from being intelligent and courageous to foolish and cowardly.

The premise of series could be good but I doubt I'll continue with the rest of the books.
