Publisher's summary

Before her Argeneau vampire family paranormal romance novels made her a New York Times best-selling superstar, Lynsay Sands did The Deed. Lynsay's witty, sexy, utterly fantastic debut romance transports the listener back to Medieval England to witness the outrageous trials and temptations of a good wife whose husband unfortunately dies before he can do...The Deed. The lady, left shockingly unprepared, finds herself promised to a handsome, landless knight, and misunderstandings, missteps, and (of course) passion ensue.

The first of her more than 30 historical romance novels and anthologies known for their wonderfully humorous edge, The Deed is a delightful treat for confirmed Sands fans as well as for listeners who appreciate the early novels of Julie Garwood.

Excellent

This is a great book as are all of your books. The only thing I miss is a good epilogue to finish off the story and make sure that she had no trouble having the baby, etc. Things like that would make me happy and feel as if the story had really come to an end. Thank you for letting someone that knows nothing of writing to spout off about it without taking offense.
Warm Regards, BJ Sherwin NP-C

HUMOROUS WITH AREAS OF ANXIETY

First off Lynsay Sands has done it again it doesn't matter if it's The absolutely brilliant Argeneau Series or the Historical genre.

(There are areas where it's so comical you could just imagine how the scenario is interacted 😂 )

This is about Amaury de Aneford (the ba***rd son of a Lord) better yet the most sort after soldier all around England. And the virgin widow Lady Emmaline Eberhart, who had gone to King Richard to demand her husband of 2 years to do his bed sharing & what goes on. Well here is the first area you could be gobsmacked if you're thinking in today's scenario & not that of the way it was back in the Medieval era & on top of that having grown up without a mother figure to talk to her how the marital bed goes 😉
AND this is the start of their humorous life together but with having to watch their backs as they KEEP having episodes of Where they're getting jumped by a varied load of unscrupulous people.
I have a couple of negatives which is so rare of me to write for Lynsay's work, which I won't take it off my scoring, Some of the vocabulary is wrong for the era.
And the other was I'm sorry to say I found the way narrator Chloe Lynn said AMAURY it sounded at times like ANN-MARIE
But NO Matter What The Story is a Great One

Another Good Book by LS 4.5 Stars

I wondered what the Deed was about. So, if you want to have a good time, read/listen to Lynsay Sands books. Her characters are strong in their own way, just listen. The humor, the danger and the love in her books holds your attention. You don't want to stop listening. Chloe Lynn was very good.

FUUNY

Lady Emmaline/Emma Eberhart has requested an audience with King Richard. She wants him to command her husband of 2 years the Duke of Eberhart to consummate there marriage. On his way to due what the King commands he is killed.

A few days later the King commands Amaury de Aneford to marry the widowed virginal Lady Emmaline/Emma. This begins one of the funniest romance stories I have had the pleasure of reading in a long time.

Emma's in laws are determine that the Dukedom and all its wealth will not be given over to Emma's new husband and the now Newly minted Duke Amaury Aneford of Eberhart. The in laws many plots to murder Amaury all go awry. The villains are know from the beginning of the story.

I think Emmalines lack of knowledge of the marital bed would have been more believable if she were younger maybe 18 instead of 22. Living in the country would have taught her something about sexual joining. I also would have like an epilog . So 4 stars instead of 5

This book is amazing, held me in perfect suspense.

Wonderful story, great narration as well. This title was great thoroughly enjoyed my jaw dropping repeatedly. Sands books have become a bit repetitive to me as this is my third or fourth series but this was an excellent story line.

cute love story

This was such a cute love story. There was adventure, humor and romance. Lady Emma was so funny, I love how sweat and naive she is.
