Utah’s population is booming and new houses are being built faster than LDS/Mormon temples. When human remains are found on a piece of Branson Falls property being developed, everyone thinks the bones belong to a lost hiker. But when more bodies are discovered, it quickly becomes clear that this was no accident.
Rumors are swirling that the remains could have been victims of a notorious serial killer, and that attracts the attention of a popular true crime podcast, the Murderoonies, who descend on Branson Falls to cover the case and help Kate investigate—whether Kate wants their help or not. And they're not just covering the crime, they're also very interested in Kate's love life.
Drake is the legal representative for the real estate developer, and Hawke is assisting law enforcement, which means Kate is working closely with them both. Given what happened at the Halloween party, that's about as awkward as "hussy" Kate in church.
Kate's focused on finding out who's responsible for the dead bodies, and she's digging up secrets. Someone wants the information she's uncovering to remain hidden, and they'll do anything to make sure it stays that way...even if it means burying more bodies.
