Awesome Story & Narration🎧 Thrilling & Diabolical

Wow, this story just blew me away, it sucked me in right from the start, grabbed my attention and held it hostage for the entire book. It is my first book written by Lilian Harris and it definitely will not be my last, I hope to hear more of her books on audio soon. She is a gifted author with a wonderful writing style and a creative mind, I loved the originality of this story, she takes you into a mafia world but she does not make it all about the mafia, but as an outsider looking in, that said the world building and character development is phenomenal. Chiara Bianchi and Dominick Cavaleri were best friends despite her father forbidding her to spend time with him, he thought the Cavaleri family were trash and did not want her associating with them. Dominick’s family owned the bakery and Chiara’s mother knew they were good people and allowed her to spend time with her friend and hid that from her father. Chiara’s father was ruthless and was cruel to them both, abusive too. Her mother was looking for a way to get them out and promised her it would be soon. But her controlling father goes off the rails and it forever changed both Chiara and Dominicks life. I loved everything about this book and how it all played out. It is a cleverly plotted story with plenty of drama, angst, twists and turns, thrilling suspense, heartfelt emotions and some steamy romance. Lilian Harris, thank you for this amazing story and the wild and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧And for the amazing narration, Gideon Frost and Lessa Lamb are wonderfully talented narrators and versatile voice artists. They were the perfect cast to bring these characters and story to life, and did so with a complete understanding of each character they portrayed and were believable in every role they played. Lessa Lamb’s Chiara was fantastic, she grew with the role as she aged, from a child to adulthood, and she grasped all sides of her personality thru those years as well, from a frightened child all the way to the confident, strong woman she became. Gideon Frost did the same for Dominick, varying his voice thru the years and becoming the hardened, alpha boss he became. Both were great performing the roles of all the secondary and support characters, too. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and projected them into their performance. These entertaining storytellers are versatile voice artists and a pleasure to listen to, and their narration enhanced this already brilliant story to another level. Thank you for another exceptional listen.

This is the first book in the Cavaleri Brothers series. Dom and Chiara were best friends since the first time they met. Chiara’s father was a bad man. He is the boss of the Palermo Mafia family. Dom witnessed the horrific murder of his father and little brother. He took is other brothers and ran. He swore he would do whatever it takes to revenge his family. Fifteen years later and it is time to start his plan to seek his revenge. Dom and Chiara never forgot about each other over the years. Lessa Lamb and Gideon Frost did a phenomenal job narrating this book. I can’t wait to listen to book two!

This was all kinds of wonderful, dark, thrilling, delicious, drool-worthy, heartbreaking and exciting……

WONDERFUL because best friends Dominic and Chiara, inseparable since third grade, get ruthlessly torn apart from each other at thirteen by a cruel, dangerous manipulative father with blood soaked hands.. and it’s been wonderful listening to their all-consuming Bianchi vs Cavaleri rollercoaster of a second-chance.

DARK because the present-day twenty-eight year old Dominic, with his identity, brothers and powerful Syndicate cloaked, is a very different person from his undamaged thirteen year old self. Now he’s rich, ruthless, determined, hate-filled and bloody revenge on the whole Bianchi family fuels his cold dead heart.

THRILLING because Chiara has grown up in her father’s threatening world and now, at twenty-eight, she’s strong, intelligent and feisty. So she know she’s in deep trouble when she’s kidnapped by the handsome, sexy stranger she’d been flirting with that night.. but she has a plan.

And finally EXCITING because this new to me author’s talented world-building, imagination and abilities captured my heart and soul and her action-packed, sweet, brutal, beautiful, full of feels second-chance rollercoaster blew me away. And the characters and their twists and turns were all skilfully brought to life by Gideon and Lessa whose enjoyable dual pov narration entertained me as I cooked and cleaned the day away engulfed in a star-crossed lover’s second chance.

Worth a credit? Yes definitely.. but this happy couple’s happy end has a tbc cliffhanger that will lead to Dante Cavaleri’s story.

This story is dark, intense, thrilling, full of revenge.and betrayal. Love and trust is lost, to be found again 15 years later.
Lillian Harris story is about best friends. Chiara Bianchi and Dominick Cavaler. She was forbidden to see him by her father. He was cruel, just plain mean. It just took one day and changed Chiara and Dom's life forever.
Now, it's years later Dom plotting revenge and now it's time to put his plan in action.
Gideon Frost and Lessa Lamb are talented voice artists. They were perfect and brought these characters and this story to life, Thank you for a wonderful story and audio

overall it was good

The girl character got on my last nerve. She tried to be a bada-- but couldn't do anything to back it up, and she chased Dom around like a dog in heat. Narrators were excellent

The story starts off in the past when the MCs are kids. Both narrator's did a fantastic job narrating those chapters. Betrayal, lies and a misunderstanding lead to Dante hating Chiara in the present. I'll be honest and say the miscommunication wasn't huge enough for Dante to be so angry but what her father did definitely was. The brothers want revenge and the heroine is just a pawn. She's strong and has endured a lot but most of it is off the page. I wouldn't consider Dante an anti-hero because despite him being ruthless with others he isn't with Chiara. This is the first in a series of stand-alones. Overall it was an enjoyable story and good if you're in the mood for a revenge plot and kidnapping.

What a rollercoaster

What a rollercoaster of pain, secrets, misunderstandings, love, betrayal, and just insanity that only comes from a mafia story. Once the stage was set I couldn't wait for all the truths to come spilling out, taking the characters' perceived worlds down like a house of cards. Cunning plays, violence, vicious brutality, tragedy, unsurmountable love...all the things such a story brings plus the danger and suspense that keeps me on the edge of my seat and captivated til the end. And what an ending...Dom and Chiara get their happy ending but the set up for Book 2... I needed it right then because jeeze... Narrators brought the characters to life.

Book 1 - Cavaleri Brothers

This is book 1 in Harris' Cavaleri Brothers series and I loved it! Well written with great characters and storyline. Once the very best of friends but from complete opposite families our main characters are Chiara and Dominic. Chiara is from a mafia family who's father is anything but the doting, loving father figure. Ruthless and cunning he is everything you would hate. Dominic's father is loving and caring - the complete opposite. When tragedy strikes and Chiara and Dominic's lives change and their friendship is no more. Dominic grows to be ruthless in his attempt at revenge and is blind to the manipulation from so many years ago. He keeps secrets that threaten the future he didn't know he still craved. A wonderful story of revenge and redemption that captivated from start to finish. Loved the dual narration and point of view. Compelling storyline that will thrill and all the sweet, steamy and alpha protectiveness you could hope for! Can't wait for more in this thrilling mafia romance series.

A MUST READ FOR DARK ROMANCE LOVERS!

OMG!!!! What a sorted web we weave…

This story is dark and oh so amazing! This world that was built by Lilian for Kiara and Dom… I am literally salivating to read the next book! So much happened in this story that I still can’t believe I read only one book.

The ups, downs, twists, turns and the secrets that were withheld! Holy H3ll was this an amazing tale! It’s been a long time since I’ve read a new author that just captivated me so much! This was an audio book but when I had to press pause… it made me anxious because I felt like I was leaving Dom and Kiara hanging!!

I just know the next book is about Dante and I can’t wait. The little taste I had of him in this book made me want more! Lilian… you are a true wordsmith and storyteller. How that beautiful head of yours comes up with these stories, I will never fathom! I need more!!!

Dark Friend To Enemies to Lovers Romance

The Devil's Deal by Lilian Harris is a dark friend to enemies to lovers romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Gideon Frost and Lessa Lamb. This is the first book in the Cavaleri Brothers series.

I absolutely love Lilian's books! Lilian does an amazing job making you feel all the emotions that Chiara and Dominic are feeling. This book took me on an emotional roller coaster that I never wanted to get off. Their story is messy, but you can't help but root for them.

The book ends on a cliffhanger that left me begging for more. I can't wait for the next book in the series The Devil's Pawn to be released on audio so I can get Raquel and Dante's story.

I originally read the book when it was first released and was so excited when it was announced that it was coming to audio, and I was not disappointed. Gideon and Lessa did an amazing job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.

I would highly recommend this book if you like dark romances, friends to enemies to lovers romance, captive romance, or romantic suspense.
