Resumen del Editor

For the first time in her life, Maggie is being selfish. When she suddenly finds herself out of work and divorced, she casts aside her life as she knows it and heads north to the seaside village of Bar Harbor. Looking for a fresh start, she goes to work for her longtime friend Sparu while enjoying the single life.

That is, until she meets Seamus: a hardworking and quiet dragon living on a nearby lighthouse, with a sorrowful past which he alone can bear. Will their lust for each other derail both of their plans, or can they find love again in one another and rekindle the fires in their hearts?

Fun story, fantastic narrator

Enjoyed this book, written from a dragon’s point of view as she navigates a turning point in her life - took a little bit to get into it, but soon I found myself grinning and laughing pretty regularly. Definitely unique, and a little spicy. The narration was upbeat and enjoyable as well.

Expected Romance till End

So...as a dude I never thought I would be listening to this type of book but with the characters being anthrophonic dragons and so few books focusing on them I just had to.

It is what you expect to see in a Hallmark movie but with Dragons. Business women, Maggie, needs something in her life to feel happy and complete...and it happens to be intercourse with a dude. Not much there but I was enjoying the slowness of Seamus due to him hoping his wife would return. This made it more interesting to see the main character give dating other dragons a shot and seeing how it played out for an older women getting into the new-age ways of dating. Though she NEVER fully let Seamus leave her mind at any time which is to be expected as that is the end goal of them getting together, but they need more interactions and less time skips to see more of them interacting day to day in none thinking their their genitals.

If they had met half way through the book, and the first half was her dating around. Building some connections but none landing perfectly. Some just being more frequent friends with benefits to handle each other's needs it would be more understanding. But her mind being locked on Seamus so early one stunted her potential to have the agency she clearly should have. This could have been fixed with another 5-10 hours to the book and building her friend group to be more people her age or even younger all helping each other out. She gets what she gives in her new friend group and then at the half way point once she is fully happy with herself she happens upon Seamus the same way and then gets that giddy feeling but doesn't latch on until they interact on paper more. Like I say less time skipping to see the relationship be more then just physical desire which is what it feels like. The point I know but it has potential.

The last hour or so was the 100% downfall of the book. It had potential with a sole survivor of the accident that was believed to have killed Seamus's wife and they made it complicated for no reason. All they needed to do was have Wilhelm relay the confirmation of Seamus's wife death, and then give another 5-10 chapters of him finally grieving and letting go, while all his friends supported him and he spent time with Wilhelm bonding and talking over this.

And after that time this would have been a good time skip of Seamus doing what his wife would have wanted and living a life. This book was 2-3 hours too short, with so much missing potential and drama in ALL the wrong places. And the random lore drops tell me the author has thought of the world a lot more then one would think, and could make multiple stories in this world. Just so odd.

If you want a horny story with a rush train wreak ending go for it, but I don't suggest it.
