Publisher's summary

The final installment in Richelle Mead's sweeping, enthralling Glittering Court series answers the trilogy's biggest question: What is the secret that drives Tamsin to win at all costs?

Tamsin Wright is unstoppable. She must become the Glittering Court's diamond: the girl with the highest test scores, the most glamorous wardrobe, and the greatest opportunities to match with an elite suitor in the New World. Training alongside other girls in the Glittering Court, Tamsin immerses herself completely in lessons about etiquette, history, and music - everything a high-society wife would need to know. Once she's married, she'll be able to afford a better life for her family, so the sacrifice is worth it if she can be the best.

When her friendship with Mira and Adelaide, her roommates at the Glittering Court, threatens her status as the top-ranked prospect, she does the only thing she knows will keep her on track: She cuts them out of her life. But when her voyage across the sea goes off course, Tamsin must use her unrelenting grit and determination to survive the harsh winter far north of her intended destination in hopes of making it back to the Glittering Court in time to secure a proposal - and a comfortable future for her family.

Experiencing new cultures and beliefs for the first time, Tamsin realizes that her careful studies haven't prepared her for everything, and with new alliances formed with roguish tradesman Jago Robinson and good-natured minister Gideon Stewart, Tamsin's heart begins to be pulled in different directions. But she can't let her brewing attraction get in the way of her ultimate goal: protecting the secret she holds closest to her heart, the one that would unravel everything she's worked for if it's uncovered.

Perfect gem!!!

I am a huge fan of the Vampire Academy series, but Glittering Court replaced it as my Richelle's Mead favorite! All three books were perfect! I am so happy I discovered this gem. The only thing is that I read the three books in probably a week, because I couldn't stop myself.

The characters were very well written, not the typical cookie-cutter one-dimensional ones that we often see in YA books. The books had such a wide-span adventure, history, nature, unpredictable twists, and turns, great dialogs, struggles, humor and wins. The main heroines were strong, relatable, and human. Each had her own strength and character development. Same with the male interests - each so different from each other, not typically cookie-cutter tall-dark-and-handsome (with the instant sizzling attraction) and a perfect fit for the main heroine! Plus the wide array of interesting supporting characters with each deserving their own story told!

the best of the three

the first book in the series was good. The second one was great. And now this last book is fantastic. At first when I realized that we were going to hear the same Story 3 times I was disappointed, but now I wish I could have more points of you for this turn of events. Tamsin is by far the most relatable of the three characters, and I am so happy to have gotten to know her better.

Incredible, incredible, INCREDIBLE.

As usual, Richelle has blown me away with her ingenious ability to build the most beautiful stories that both excite and entrap the reader. These books are a far step away from the fantasy fiction of magic and mythic, but hold a glorious magic of their own as we go along the same journey with 3 different girls we come to love. I’ve consumed EVERYTHING that Richelle has written and have never been disappointed, and will continue to do so in the years to come.

whisper voice is creepy

It being read completely in a whisper voice was completely bizarre. good thing it was a decent enough story to try and get past it.

Great Series! I wish there were more books!

I loved it. I am a huge Richelle Mead fan. This series was totally different than Vampire Academy or Bloodlines. All of her books have a flgrest flow to them for me. In some ways this one is my favorite, but there is no match to a love like Rose and Dimirti for me.

Not my normal read but enjoyed.

I don't usually do romance story lines but really enjoyed this series. Loved having the same story told from three points if view. Would love if we could get a short novel letting us know how the next year of their lives played out and if the glidering court still went on or if other adventures where a result of the mess of events that happened here.

Good

I don't normally give 5 stars to books, but I really enjoyed this story. Richelle did a good job as well tying in the storylines from the previous 2 books. This book kept moving and kept my interest.

Exceptional character and story

While I read all of the books from The Glittering Court and loved them, I have to say that The Emerald Sea was my favorite book. I love Adelaide, Mira but my favorite is Tamsin Wright. And yes, I love the other two books but I feel that with Tamsin, this book touched me the most. She was an exceptional person, driven, smart, strategic and she had a huge heart. Throughout the book, she suffered so much, and still am happy she got what she wanted and more. I think the story ended a bit abruptly and I wish that there was an epilogue at the end focusing on how she and the other 2 girls settled. I would recommend all 3 books.
