From these biblical references we can see concerning Bar-Nava that: He was a traveling companion Of Rav Shaul/Paul. He introduced Rav Shaul/Paul to the Jerusalem community of faith. He was trusted by the Jerusalem elders. He was faithful with finances. He was a Jewish believer. He was A Levite. His Hebrew name was Yoseph/Joseph. He was a missionary and had a pastor’s heart. He was considered a teacher and a prophet. He was ordained by the Ruach HaKodesh/Holy Spirit to rescue Ephraim from the nations. He was from the island of Cyprus. He observed Shabbat with the Jewish people. He was a key speaker and delegate at the Acts 15 Jerusalem Council. He was a chosen ambassador by the Jerusalem Council sent out with their rulings. It is traditionally ascribed to the Barnabas-Bar- Nava who is mentioned in the Acts of the Apostles, though some ascribe it to another apostolic father of the same name, a "Barnabas-Bar-Nava of Alexandria," or simply attribute it to an unknown early Nazarene Yisraelite teacher. A form of the Epistle 850 lines long is noted in the Latin list of canonical works in the 6th century Codex Claromontanus. It is not to be confused with the Gospel of Barnabas-Bar-Nava.
