Now an original series starring Rosamund Pike as Moiraine!
The first novel in Robert Jordan's #1 New York Times bestselling epic fantasy series, The Wheel of Time®.
The Wheel of Time turns and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth returns again. What was, what will be, and what is, may yet fall under the Shadow.
Moiraine Damodred arrives in Emond’s Field on a quest to find the one prophesized to stand against The Dark One, a malicious entity sowing the seeds of chaos and destruction. When a vicious band of half-men, half beasts invade the village seeking their master’s enemy, Moiraine persuades Rand al’Thor and his friends to leave their home and enter a larger unimaginable world filled with dangers waiting in the shadows and in the light.
Since its debut in 1990, The Wheel of Time® has captivated millions of readers around the globe with its scope, originality, and compelling characters.

The city of the gods. Elantris once stood as the symbol of all that is beautiful. A sprawling metropolis of unrivaled grandeur, it was a symbol of power and strength, built to be as imposing as it was magnificent. The only thing more glorious than the city itself was its inhabitants, Godlike beings, with silvery skin and hair of the purest, flowing white. Able to create powerful magics with a mere wave of their hands, the Elantrians were able to heal mortal wounds and create any object they desired. To be an Elantrian was to be without sickness, without pain and without want.

The Disc’s very existence is about to be threatened by a strange new blight: the world’s first tourist, upon whose survival rests the peace and prosperity of the land.

very enjoyable
the story develops in a way that you can clearly see the characters mature. at times the pace can be a little slow and the description of the emotional responses of the characters can be a little basic, but very good overall. I look forward to the remainder of the series.

Excellent readers, for a really good story
This first in the series sets up so many twists that occur in the next 13 books it is amazing how much the author had in his head from the beginning. Thouroughly enjoyed this story, I find I wonder what the characters are doing as we switch back and forth through the book.

My Inspiration
Robert Jordan and Tad Williams have always been my two biggest sources of inspiration in terms of my writing and animating and this book right here is what started it all. I have started Eye of the World many, many times, but have only finished it once (twice by the time I started writing this) and it's always been amazing. It's so fluid and detailed the fore-shadowing is done amazingly well and it perfectly reflects one of the over-arching themes of this book. It's slow to start off, but when it picks up… it picks up.

Fantasy on an epic scale.
amazing story that is familiar while being extremely original. coming of age epic that bring so many great ideas to the table. if you love LOTR this will tickle that same feeling the Tolkien books did. the story presents a world rich in lore and secrets undiscovered in a diffrent way but all so familiar.

Chapters don't match up?
Any additional comments?
I am enjoying the story so far, my only problem is that the chapters in the audio book when I access them on my app do not match with the book. I want to be able to switch back and forth between reading the book and listening to it. It is difficult when there are 2 chapters included in what is showing to be just one chapter. It is difficult to read a chapter in my book then have to go searching through the audio to find where the next one starts. It is frustrating. Please tell me I am the only one with this issue and this is a glitch that can be fixed.

I love everything but!
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I have! Many times! The more people who I get turned on to WOT, the better!
Any additional comments?
Ok so this is an admittedly small problem but it is consistent across all the books the these two narrators do together. They. Don't. Agree. On. Pronunciation. Between. Themselves.
This means that when the story switches from Kate to Michael, or vice versa, they could be saying names very differently and it throws things off.
Besides that, they are both excellent!

excellent book, could have been broken up better
I enjoyed this book a great deal, however I did not like the fact that each sectionof the Audiobook did not match up with chapters of the actual book. otherwise an excellent listen, though.
