Imperfect, but good trilogy
Overall quite enjoyable, but sometimes the writer gets ahead of himself. Most egregiously, speed is often described with words that imply a pinnacle of ability, and each time something faster comes along later.
Besides that admittedly minor gripe and at the risk of spoilers, the story doesn't actually end. Much happens, but the main conflict is never in danger of resolving. It's not enough to get me to stop listening, but I do hope the story manages to wrap up at some point.

Great escapist fantasy
From the initial description I didn’t think I would eat as much as I did. The story is very good, the characters are great and well developed, and the narration is superb. The only problem is it leaves you up in the air at the end, and there is no fourth volume to conclude the story.

Solid story, enjoyable read
The story has a lot going for it with a solid, but common storyline, enhanced by the authors own flavoring of races and magic (not) systems. Character development is well done, though in some ways expected. A recommended read.
