Americans wage many of today’s fiercest policy debates and culture wars over constitutional meaning. It’s because constitutional law is so fundamental to our democracy that law schools across the country teach the subject. It's the area of law that determines what federal and state governments are permitted to do, and what rights you have as an individual citizen of the US. Here, you'll get the same accessible, well-rounded introduction to constitutional law as a typical law student - but with the added benefit of noted constitutional scholar Eric Berger's brilliant insights.

J.R.R. Tolkien famously described the Second Age of Middle-earth as a ‘dark age, and not very much of its history is (or need be) told’. And for many years readers would need to be content with the tantalizing glimpses of it found within the pages of The Lord of the Rings and its appendices, including the forging of the Rings of Power, the building of the Barad-dûr and the rise of Sauron.

At first, Mary is as sour and rude as ever. She dislikes her new home, the people living in it, and, most of all, the bleak moor on which it sits.

In The Wisdom of the Shire, Noble Smith sheds light on the life-changing ideas tucked away inside the classic works of J. R. R. Tolkien and his most beloved creation—the stouthearted Hobbits. Drawing on The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, and other tales of Middle-earth, Smith shows how a snug hobbit-hole is actually just a state of mind and how even the smallest person can have the valor of a Rider of Rohan.

Great for home, bad for car
I selected this version because I wanted to listen to something engaging while driving with my family. Three story and performance of voice actors was great. Unfortunately the voices turned out to be hard to understand while driving. People in the back seats reported it as merely a noise.

Wishing for an unabridged version
The sound is not so great since it probably was made for AM radio. I couldn't understand the dwarfs song at the beginning of the story. The dramatization and the voices are good though. Its a nice summary of the story since it covers everything (I read it long ago). I still want an unabridged version.

A Wonderful Dramatization
What did you love best about The Hobbit (Dramatized)?
I love this dramatization because I feel it captures the moods of the story very well.
What did you like best about this story?
The music was perfect for each scene, making me feel like I was really there.
What does An Ensemble Cast bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
The different personalities and attitudes of the characters. I am rather black/white and dramatization helps me to see characters in new ways and helps me consider them better.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The music for Imladris really makes me want to go there myself, along with the simple explanation that painted such a beautiful picture.
Any additional comments?
A wonderful dramatization all in all. Yes, there are a few things I would have done differently, but I love this dramatization and listen to it again and again. If you can let go of your hard and fast notions about Middle-Earth (yours truly), this production will take you on a wonderful journey.

Lovely rendition
A lovely story wonderfully dramatized. I only wish it were an unabridged version of the book. There are a few places where the dramatization (lack of full narrative) make the story a bit difficult to follow (but only a bit).
Unfortunately, I find this rendition of the Dwarves' song tedious though in the story it is meant to be rousing. And on purely personal preference I can't get past the pronunciation of the Dragon's name. 'Smog' has never sounded right to me, though many claim it is the correct pronunciation.
Despite nitpickings, I would absolutely recommend this version of J.R.R. Tolkien's classic to anyone who enjoys being read to and likes a good story.
