Story
Obituary writer Nadine Barbault doesn’t mind being called “Lady Death”. It suits the ice queen persona she’s cultivated to survive the fast-paced Toronto Herald. So when Nadine learns that famous (and reclusive) author Dot Voline has died, she doesn’t hesitate to run the obituary…only to discover that Dot is very much alive. Nadine’s screw-up has brought Wesley Chen of the rival Spear no end of joy—she’s been a thorn in his extremely ambitious side for years. But the renewed interest in Dot also surfaced chatter about a mysterious past scandal.

Ryder, Garrett, Kenzo, and Diesel - The Vipers. Their deals are as sordid as their business, and their reputation is enough to bring a grown man to his knees, forcing him to beg for mercy. They are not people you mess with, yet my dad did. The old man ran up a debt with them and then sold me to cover his losses. Yes, sold me. They own me now. I’m theirs in every sense of the word. But I’ve never been meek and compliant.

Story
Eight years ago I fell into a secret summer fling with my best friend’s little sister before our lives went in different directions. Now, I’m the grumpy to Juliet’s sunshine on a popular dating podcast we host, and when a wealthy fan gives us a charming coastal cottage as the biggest thank you ever, we head to the town where I grew up to give it a makeover. And find the house has only one bed. Located under a mirrored ceiling.

Disappointed…
It started off good, then it became to unbelievable and unrealistic. After that I continued to listened because I was intrigued but over it. I was actually laughing at how outrageous things became. He used the word “bedding” so much I was annoyed like who talks like that By the last chapter and ending I was upset I even purchased the book. 🤷🏽♀️. I purchased this book because I enjoyed little black girl lost so much. But this was way left from that series.

OMG - Listen To This Book
OMG -this book was so over the top! It wasn't your typicl romance - had lots of drama and intrigue all the way up to the last sentence! The main character was hilarious. I found myself rooting for him all the way thru - even though he made some crazy decisions. In the end, it all turned out.....read this book, u won't be disappoited!

Captivating but went overboard
This book held my interest, but I didn't really care for any of the characters. I hope I NEVER meet anyone as diabolical and vindictive. The worst, and the most unbelievable part, was about the pirates. I was through at that point. The "slave" part was equally incredulous. It was too much all the way around!

oh my goodness
This book is excellent. I have to tell you, I have listened to a lot of books but this one is one of the best. I highly recommend this book if you enjoy twisted plots, love, action and just great entertainment. The narrator did a wonderful job. Dont miss out.

It was OKAY
I purchased this book after reading the reviews. It was okay but not all that. It would be enough to keep you entertained if you're driving long distance alone. In my opinion, the buck stops there. Thank you and have a nice day.

Can't Stop Listening
This is one of the best listens I've heard in months. Keith Lee Johnson really lets you get into the story from a man's point of view. I couldn't stop listening; the characters are crazy and there's DRAMA, DRAMA, DRAMA!!! Loved it.

Change Reader
I listened to the first few minutes and I couldn't continue to listen to the way the reader interpreted these words. This book is meant to be read by an African American or at least someone who understands how to reprise the works of one, correctly restating the terms in the dialogue that it was meant to be understood.
