Resumen del Editor
From the author of the book phenomenon The Invisible String comes a moving companion title about coping with grief when a pet dies.
"When our pets aren't with us anymore, an Invisible Leash connects our hearts to each other. Forever." That's what Zack's friend Emily tells him after his dog dies. Zack doesn't believe it. He only believes in what he can see. But on an enlightening journey through their neighborhood—and through his grief—he comes to feel the comforting tug of the Invisible Leash. And it feels like love.
Bestselling author Patrice Karst's gentle story uses the same bonding technique from her classic book The Invisible String to help listeners through the experience of the loss of a beloved animal.
"A unique way of helping readers cope. I highly recommend this book be available in shelters, pet stores, veterinary clinics, and grief counseling meetings."―Stacy Dietrich, RVT, BOE, veterinarian
"A truly wondrous book for all ages [that offers] much love and reassurance that...the love between yourself and your animals creates a bond that can never be broken."―Carrie Ball, Pet Bereavement Support Network
"An empathy-driven resource for children reckoning with the loss of a pet."―Publishers Weekly
"The stages of grief are clearly written and illustrated...helpful for grieving children."―Kirkus Reviews
Patrice Karst is the author of the bestselling, contemporary classic The Invisible String, which has sold over 1.5 million copies and been translated into fifteen languages. Patrice has also written The Invisible String Backpack, The Invisible Leash: An Invisible String Story Celebrating Love After the Loss of a Pet, The Invisible Web: An Invisible String Story Celebrating Love and Our Universal Connection, You Are Never Alone: An Invisible String Lullaby, The Invisible String Workbook: Creative Activities to Comfort, Calm and Connect, a therapeutic activity book co-written with Dana Wyss, Ph.D. She has also written Ruby and Lonely and The Smile that Went Around the World. Patrice has been on a lifelong mission to spread the message that love transcends time and space and is the most powerful force in the universe. Born in London, England, she now lives in Southern California where she is working on her memoir and is the mother of one grown son, Elijah. She invites you to learn more at patricekarst.com.

Historia
The kingdom of Cornucopia was once the happiest in the world. It had plenty of gold, a king with the finest moustache you could possibly imagine, and butchers, bakers, and cheesemongers whose exquisite foods made a person dance with delight when they ate them. Everything was perfect - except for the misty Marshlands to the north, which, according to legend, were home to the monstrous Ickabog. Anyone sensible knew that the Ickabog was just a myth to scare children into behaving. But the funny thing about myths is that sometimes they take on a life of their own.

The Book of Pet Love and Loss is a collection of quotations—poignant thoughts and memories discovered in letters, journals, diaries, memoirs, and other original sources—from beloved cultural figures who understood this singular experience so deeply, they felt compelled to write about it. This book dignifies the profound connection we share with our animal companions, but it also provides solace as mourners document their heartache over the loss of their cats, dogs, rabbits, birds, and other animals—even, in the case of Pablo Neruda, a mongoose.

Communications from beloved pets are seen by thousands every day. Some messages are given in ways that require an acute awareness and more interpretation as well. From the heavens above, signs are given by deceased pets to connect with their families they left behind. Oftentimes, the gifts they share are unseen or are difficult to identify. Learning to speak the language of spirit requires practice, but once identified, the joy of hearing from your pet in spirit can bring great comfort.

Great book for kids who lost a pet.
We lost our beloved Lab recently. The loss of him has affected my whole family especially my 8 year old. This book has helped explain that we may not see him but her love for him and his love for her will always live on. My daughter and myself have found great comfort reading this book. I purchased this book both on the Kindle and on audible so she can read or listen to it when ever she is feeling sad. She has done both read and listen and has found great comfort in both. Thank you.

Not very good
I expected a better story. It’s really a book for kids. Not a whole lot going on here.
