Publisher's summary

Tightly written thrillers like The Marching Season have made best-selling novelist Daniel Silva a favorite of readers everywhere. In The Kill Artist, he paints an absorbing portrait of a reluctant hero’s attempt to thwart an old enemy to preserve a precarious peace.

After the assassination of his wife and son, Gabriel Allon retires from his brutal anti-terrorist career and loses himself in his previous cover job: art restoration. But when Tariq al-Hourani, the Palestinian terrorist responsible for his family’s death, begins a killing spree designed to destroy Middle East peace talks, Gabriel once again slips into the shadowy world of international intrigue. In a global game of hide-and-seek, the motives of Gabriel and Tariq soon become more personal than political.

Filled with vivid action and a fascinating cast of supporting characters, The Kill Artist delivers pulse-pounding suspense, carried to a startling climax by the tension-packed narration of George Guidall.

ending spoiled it

ok book. not a fantastic storyline, but not bad. lots of buildup up to a fantastically anti-climatic climatic ending. image if Rudy @ Notre Dame had made it on the field for one play and was then benched. no one picks him up and carries him around. but he made it. narrator was good.

Political views distracting

Good audio, interesting plot, but it’s hard to focus on the story bc of blatant political rhetoric.

Excellent Read!

I list listened to this book for a second time over the last few years. It was just as exhilarating as the first time. Daniel Silva held my attention from beginning to end. And the reader was perfect. I hope he reads all of the sequel books!

The kill artists

Very well written and very well read. I like the way the reader seamlessly slips between characters.

Kill artist

As always, I very much enjoyed
Mr. diva’s novel.
I really like the parts when Gabriel is restoring and painting.
His real personality.
Mr Guildhall is an extraordinary narrator.

Fair

This was fair to midland. There was a lot of names that were used that if you weren’t familiar with confused me and any one not used to foreign names. I was tempted to stop befor the end,the only thing that kept me going was waiting for the twisted ending I knew was coming.

A great combination

The story was great - though a bit complicated with the characters until about half way through. But the story plus George Guidall are a winning combination.

Spell-binding

This was my first Daniel Silva novel. I plan on listening to the entire Allon series in order. The serious message of this novel was that Israel is the Jews’ safe-place that they need but the cost necessarily will be endless terrorism. Perhaps by destroying Tarique’s organization Silva is not pessimistic. After all Dominique’s Arab lover was a sham, his stories of Palestinian suffering perhaps concocted. Underneath the complex narrative I still see the simple tragedy.

Can’t wait to listen to the next one in this serie

I really enjoyed this book. I wasn’t crazy about the ending but everything else was great. It was intriguing, clever, and well written. George Guidall never disappoints. This is one of those books that you can’t wait to get into the car and listen to. I’ve listened to several books by Silva and I’ve enjoyed every one of them. Next please.

Interesting entertaining listen

I liked the historical element that weaves seamlessly into this intriguing story that keeps you on the edge, exactly where the protagonists are trapped.
