She settles into a new life, hopeful when two mysterious and handsome strangers arrive - and unaware that one is the jilted prince and the other an assassin sent to kill her. Deception abounds, and Lia finds herself on the brink of unlocking perilous secrets - even as she finds herself falling in love. The Kiss of Deceptionis the first audiobook in Mary E. WOW!

I never really write these reviews but always read them. There were some iffy ones that made me a little hesitant to purchase, but man am I glad I did.
There aren't many books that I hadn't figured out at least half way thru the listen- this book was the exact opposite. The author really keeps you guessing until the end.
When I realized with one hour to go there would not be a solid ending I purchased book two! The narrators were fabulous- all in all great book! Thank you!

Loved it

I really enjoyed seeing characters mature as they discovered new things about themselves and served others. This isn't a typical good versus evil story... The world building introduces beautiful cultures and peoples. I thoroughly enjoyed going on the princess's journey with her and really look forward to the next book. I loved so many characters.... I hope to see more of their stories develop through the series.

Fantastic story and narrators did petty good.

I read (not listened) to this book and the other two when they came out. I remember hunting for the the third book everywhere and driving pretty far to buy the physical copy. I was enthralled by this story, and I fell in L.O.V.E. with the characters. This story is so well written and it pulls you in and wraps around you like a cozy warm blanket, trapping you within its threads. The descriptions of events and the way this author spins her words, i honestly felt like i was STANDING RIGHT THERE with Lia... I could see it all as it happened as if i was watching it with my own eyes! The best kinds of book are the ones that you feel a part of!
I saw some of the other reviews, and some were negative... I will admit that this book does start out pretty decent and intriguing, but is a bit of setting things up in the storyline and a bit slower paced than the other two books. But honestly what story doesn't need a set up to introduce you to the world and get the story flowing?? Anyone who does NOT continue on with this story in Book Two and complete this journey with book three is SEVERELY MISSING OUT!!! It gets soooo much better and way more happens than does in book one... Much much more!!! Enter the "bad guy (s)" and the "good stuff"... book two is where the webs that were set up in THIS book start to entwine and tangle and unravel and there are twists and turns and betrayals that you will never see coming!!!. I LOVE THIS STORY!
These narrators did a pretty good job, they were not all who I would have chosen for the characters, but they did well enough. Their cadences were well paced, and their voices were pretty decent. Although one of the male narrators does NOT do a.female character voice very well at all. But the story is enthralling enough that its easy to roll your eyes and continue on. WELL WORTH THE CREDIT OR MONEY AND YOU WILL WANT TO CHECK OUT BOOK TWO, even if you thought book one was a bit slow and not enough action, you will not be disappointed with book two or three!!! Happy listening readers!!!

Brilliant!

Brilliant listen, I am jumping impatiently right into the next book in series. Strong, clever heroine and nothing here is black and white.

It’s been too long since I’ve read a book this good.

Love fantasy, but can’t relate to YA novels anyMore now that you’re an adult? Here’s one of romance and maturity. No worries though, no smut. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and can’t wait to listen to the rest.

Great book!

Everything exceeded my expectations! I like slower books like these l, that take a little bit to get into the action. The narration was great. About to read book 2 now!

Slightly naïve but it pulls through halfway

I am not sure if she is a green author or what but the first half of the book was incredibly dull, there was limited character development all of them were pretty bland and recycled garbage BUT somehow I actually grew to like the main character Lea. I found the love storylines to be so naïve it was nauseating but I guess this is what REAL YA romance should be like (compare to Throne of Glass and ACOTAR lol) I don't like the narrator for Caiden he's a little robotic but the Raf narrator sounds amazing. I'm excited to get to the next book considering I didn't think I could make it through this one even 20 chapters in. Lea's character development really improved during the journey. I am impatient to listen to the next book, hopefully it doesn't take 30 chapters to get good.
