Publisher's summary

The four dead guards didn’t concern Mitch Rapp as much as the absence of the man they’d been paid to protect. Joe Rickman wasn’t just another foot soldier. For the last eight years Rickman had ran the CIA’s clandestine operations in Afghanistan. It was a murky job that involved working with virtually every disreputable figure in the Islamic Republic. More than a quarter billion dollars in cash had passed through Rickman’s hands during his tenure as the master of black ops and no one with a shred of sense wanted to know the details of how that money had been spent.

At first glance it looks as if Rickman has been kidnapped, but Rapp knows certain things about his old friend that cause him to wonder if something more disturbing isn’t afoot. Irene Kennedy, the director of the CIA, has ordered Rapp to find Rickman at all costs. Rapp must navigate the ever-shifting landscape of Afghanistan as the Taliban, Iranians, Pakistanis and Russians all plot to claim their piece of the war torn state.

With Afghanistan crumbling around him, Rapp must be as ruthless as his enemies and as deceitful as people in his own government if he has any hopes of completing his mission.

What am I going to do with no more Mitch Rapp!?!?!

Where does The Last Man rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Up there with all of the other Mitch Rapp books - my favorite series.

What did you like best about this story?

All of it.

What does George Guidall bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

George Guidall is Mitch Rapp's voice. They could not have used another narrator at this point.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

As usual, yes.

Any additional comments?

The Mitch Rapp series was/is my favorite book series hands down. So sad that the author passed away - too young. Too much talent lost too soon. Listen to all of these books if you want a good series. Just know you will probably be bummed when you get through this one and know there will be no more.

Gotta Love Mitch Rapp

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Absolutely. Excellent listen. The whole Mitch Rapp series has been great. None of books have been disappointing. Can't wait to get back to the book to find out what happens next.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Last Man?

I really really like the way he deals with arrogant people who are full of themselves especially the politicians. Makes me smile and sometimes laugh out loud.

What about George Guidall’s performance did you like?

George Guidall is the perfect reader for this series. I would be disappointed if someone else read his next book. Guidall is the best choice for this & also Craig Johnson's Walt Longmire.

Any additional comments?

Keep them coming Mr. Flynn

Never disappointing..Ever!

What made the experience of listening to The Last Man the most enjoyable?

The Author has increadable sense of timing. each book has complemented the previous. The characters are usually flawless although Mike Nash was a littleout of sync. but that is nit-picking. the book was outstanding! I hope I am reading Vince Flynn's work for decades to come.
To your Health Vince Flynn, I hope and pray for you and your family only the best.
Thank you

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

As do all of Vince's books

What does George Guidall bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He has become the voice of this series. He lends personality and life to each and every character. I identify these voises with the books. Anyone else would change who these characters are

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes

Still love this series

i was so happy when Stan Hurley came back into the stories in the last book. I think he's funny. Now, I'm sad that he's ill in this book. Hopefully he'll be in the next one.

Love this character but got lost in narration

Great book to add to the series, I love Flynn’s writing. In this book of betrayal Flynn starts off strong as with all the books in this series. However I found the Narration to be weak as every character sounded the same. Still a good read an fun listen as I devour the entire series in a couple of weeks.

Always well done!

Great story. Great narration. Just the right amount of descriptors to understand but not so much to “get lost in the weeds”.

Excellent

I really hope they make more movies with the Mitch Rapp character in them. American Assassin was not enough!
