Publisher's summary

"Reading a perfectly plotted Agatha Christie is like crunching into a perfect apple: that pure, crisp, absolute satisfaction." (Tana French, New York Times best-selling author)

For lovers of the supernatural and the macabre comes this collection of ghostly and chilling stories from legendary mystery writer Agatha Christie. Fantastic psychic visions, specters looming in the shadows, encounters with deities, a man who switches bodies with a cat - be sure to keep the light on whilst listening to these tales.

The Last Séance gathers 20 stories, some featuring Christie’s beloved detectives Hercule Poirot and Miss Marple, in one haunting compendium that explores all things occult and paranormal, and is an essential omnibus for Christie fans.

Great listen......

Some stories I have read before.... many years ago, and some stories I have heard now for the first time.
Well and simply read.

Great stories until December 2023

Suddenly, we no longer will play!! I don't know why. Perhaps it was free with purchase of Kindle ebook?

Occult Agatha Christie!!!

WoW. I thought I read all the Agatha Christie novels & short stories. What a great find. Perfect for Halloween… & a glimpse into the Spiritism practices of the time. Vintage Agatha Christie…. Thoroughly enjoyed these tales of mysticism, spiritualism, seances, & unquiet spirits.

Great listen

I enjoyed Fenella’s many voices. The last story was a little farther out than I expected!

Not bad

Overall, this is a good collection of Agatha Christie stories, some new and some I'd heard or read before. But I have been spoiled with full cast performances or narration by Hugh Frasier, so it wasn't as enjoyable as it could have been. But at least the stories weren't 'updated' like some collections have been.

A Great Time!

What’s not to like!? It’s classic Agatha Christie. Miss Marple and Hercule Poirot show up in a few. The book is a collection of 20 short stories from the “Queen of Crime”. The Audible narrator is superb for this collection.

Fantastic

This is a collection of excellent short stories that are addictive. In my opinion, these are some of Agatha Christie's best works. I love this audiobook version because it is read by the incredible Finella Woolgar, who is my very favorite.

Some good, some bad

Some of these short stories were wonderful, and some were…meh. Only one or two did I truly not like. I think the narrator does a fine job, though I can agree she’s no Hugh Fraizer and that sort of kills the Poirot of it all (though his shorts were some of my favorite).

Christie wins again, though, as the stories can trump some moments of poorer narration (again, not ever had, just sometimes not my preference).

I sometimes forget how beautiful is her writing!

The narrator is absolutely splendid. Such great characterization. And so much heart and soul. Perfection!
