Story
From the internationally best-selling author of the Sword of Truth series comes a new Richard and Kahlan novella. "They are the monsters under the bed when you are little, the shape just caught out of the corner of your eye when you thought you were alone, the shadow of something in a dark corner that surprises you and then isn't there. They stop you dead with a knot of unexpected terror in the pit of your stomach. I think that the star shift has brought us closer to their realm so that they now have the power to step into our world and hurt us."

Great addition to the SoT world
Great addition to the sword of truth series. I love how parts of this story relate to Richard and Kahlan’s story. This book is a must read (listen) for any sword of truth fan.

Loved it!
A nice adventure set in the "other world" Richard created during The Sword of Truth series. If you combine Nicci and Kahlen into one person you get Jax! If only Richard could have done that for himself! Very nice adventure. I wish Mr. Goodkind had written another with Alexander and Jax. Oh well. Rest in Peace!

3 1/2 stars
First, you really should read the Sword of Truth series before reading this book (all of it), its almost a sequel (as much as Debt of Bones is a prequel).
Second, I was somewhat disappointed with this book, it just Isn't at the same level of quality as his other books (even Naked Empire had smoother writing at least). I think the problem here is that he's trying to write a much shorter book than what he's use to, and it shows. For those of you that didn't like all the philosophy in the SoT books, good news, its only alluded to and there are no speeches :) (Though, again, the bad guys are motivated by their hatred of all things good, etc... I'm an Objectivist and even I get tired of it...)
Not a bad book, but not up to par with other similar books - perhaps a bit better than Dean Koontz has been recently.

Fascinating
At first it was confusing and unlike his other books, BUT, as the storyline began to be filled in...it became more intriguing and more related to his previous books. I was sad when it ended but look forward to a sequel!

The Sword of Truth Alternate!
I'm a huge fan of the Sword of Truth series, by Terry Goodkind. When I heard about this book I originally avoided it however now that I see how it ties in with the original time line, in a weird sort of way, I'm going to include it with my list of great reads!

Great Triller!
Would you consider the audio edition of The Law of Nines to be better than the print version?
Yes
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Law of Nines?
The interaction of the 'other human' Jacx in our 'world;.
What does Mark Deakins bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
The pace and the voice inflection the performace makes the book come alive in my mind.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The death of the main characters mom and his gradfather.
Any additional comments?
It would be a great standalone low budget movie. However if this in addition to The Sword of Truth movies this could definately be a blockbuster. The book was very enjoyable and wish there were more novels to move the strory forward and to a conclusion.
