The world crashed to pieces on June 23rd and Adrian Ring wasn't anywhere near ready for it. He had no guns, no food, no friends around, a cat that wanted to slip out the back of the condo and a girlfriend trapped in the heart of the city. This is the story of how he survived. Real, flawed, and raw, Dark Recollections is Adrian's own story of how he survived after "That Day". Told through his eyes as he talks to his laptop, affectionately named "Mr. Journal".

I've written almost 30 novels, and about the same number of short stories over my career, and to give new listeners a glimpse of the gamut of my work in an inexpensive way, this book was brought into existence. Contained here are two short stories: All In and The Vampire of Menlo Park. Both are well placed in the horror genre, about devils, demons, inventors, and the undead.

Publisher's summary
It isn't enough to keep the Finch family in Twin Falls, caged in by the conspiracy of cults and the elder gods they kill and dance for. The Twelve families want more. They want more power, more control, and to build a foothold for their legacies on Earth.
When the Murphy family lost a young son to the Abrahamson family in the battle versus the alien god Knife Eyes they demanded justice, but the council said no. So in service to the ancient god Danu, they seek to usurp the very genetic line of Diggory Finch to amplify their control over the machinations of Twin Falls.
Of course Diggory has no interest in any of that. He wants to figure out how, and why his family is in the nightmare they're in. He wants to overturn all the rocks, and see where the roaches scurry to. He wants to focus on his friendships, his new business, and his love Alisha.
But with the looming presence of the very Finch who began it all growing larger and larger, he has dwindling choices, and even worse rage against the monsters that beset him on all sides.
Just who will get all that they desire? Who will taste their vengeance in Twin Falls? Who will slam the door on the evils that lurk just beyond?

Story
During the summer months, most parents living in large cities send their kids to camps or summer school. Not Wilson’s parents. For some strange reason, every summer, they send him and his little brother down South to spend time with their grandmother, an elderly Native American woman living in a small house on the edge of a small town. No one has ever told Wilson the reason his parents continuously send the two boys there. The only thing Wilson knows is that while he's there he's forced to take care of his 100-year-old Great Grandmother.

College freshman Riley Moore stumbles into a fantasy world that feels far too real to be just a dream, which kinda freaks him out. The strange talking rabbit doesn't help either. Best-selling author Christopher Hopper takes a siesta from space opera and military sci-fi to bring you this stand-alone progression fantasy novel that, yes, could possibly become a series if listeners demand it. It also might give you lock jaw and dysentery.

The hits keep coming
I love that Diggory finally grows a pair and starts to really use his power by himself! I was also really saddened by a tragic death of someone close to him. The series really starts to heat up and will keep your imagination going. I can't put a finger on it where this series will take me but I love it!

Love this series!
This is the third book in the series. I just love this character, although I wouldn’t want to meet him in real life. If you like your late-blooming, coming of age, adventure stories with a side lovecraftian horror then this series is for you!

Philbrook at his best....
If you follow Chris Philbrook than you already know that the best things come in 3's. The third installment of Diggory Finch is no different. This is a deep dive into Twin Falls and the Twelve families that are influencing the town, world and galaxy that surrounds him.
Navigating magic, relationships, love, trust and a fast changing world sets Diggory on a wild ride throughout this story. The history of the families involved starts to come into focus and the reader starts to get a wider understanding of the challenges facing the Finch-Man, even if he doesn't quite yet.
You'll be on the edge of your seat awaiting the release of the next installment.
Would highly recommend.
