Unexpected Storyline

I really loved this book and can't wait for part 2. There are a lot of different reviews regarding how the author jumps from different time lines and how it's hard to follow but it really plays off the present and past timelines very well In my opinion. So the story line is not straightforward so you do have to have patience and pay attention, but it is well worth it, especially when they bring in the the spiritual woman from New Orleans and from there it gets really good. This is definitely one of the books that makes you want to jump right into the 2nd book because the plot is not obvious and the villain is not obvious so I'm definitely looking forward for book 2.

And of course Joe Hemple is a master at narrating.

It’s alright

Ok story line but it flipped back and forth so much it was confusing at times.
I feel like it was a strange take on “IT”.
For the me the storyline jumped around so much and didn’t finish at all. There were times I was really thinking oh it’s getting good, then it would fall flat again.

Interesting Story

The story was interesting. I think the author vacilllated between extreme descriptive language and then informal slang. There was a lot of sexual descriptions which didn't work for me. The end of the story had an unexpected twist.

Steven King meets Lord of the Flies

I thought that from early in the book so, I found it humerous when that novel was mentioned. It took me some perseverance to get through this book. I wasn't crazy about it. Although, the end was a good twist, I doubt I'll be curious enough to read the next.

True Horror

In being honest, it took me a bit to get into the story line, but once I understood the characters it was difficult to stop listening to this audio book. I was scared and left my mind running with the story. A great horror book.

good story

I had seen numerous reviews saying how scary this book was, comparing it to The Exorcist. That's a reach. Overall, good book.

Pretty SOLID, reminiscent of King, that’s a compliment

The little woods has been amazing! Audio book narrator is perfect (reminds me of wonder years haha with Fred Savage!) and the characters reminded me of Stephen Kings “The Body”, loved the characters!! I do understand the “IT” inspiration, well, Stephen King, but we don’t knock Kobe or Lebron for being inspired by 23.

One of the best!

I don’t understand what type of horror a person needs to think this isn’t suspenseful or creepy, but it is all of those things! One of the best I’ve read. It reads like a movie, and should be a movie soon.. or a good minis series!! Well done!!

The narrator is not good at narrating.

I gave this book a genuine chance. I did not like the narrator from the outset, but I had read good things about the novel, so I tried to suffer through, hoping the story’s quality would overcome the narration’s lack of quality. I would stop this one when I got a new title, then pick it back up after finishing that new book. I got as far as chapter 10 before I finally said, “No, this book truly stinks.” It might be more enjoyable if I read it for myself. But I’m not intrigued enough at this point to bother spending that money on it.
