Publisher's summary

When Texas beauty Dahlia Montgomery and her best friend journey to Idaho for a change of scenery for the summer, the last thing she expects to encounter is Luke McRae, a lean, rugged cowboy intent on sweeping her off her feet and into his bed. Dahlia can't resist his rugged cowboy swagger and his sky blue eyes, even though she knows he can break her heart.

Luke is part owner and manager of the legendary Double-Deuce Ranch in the Idaho mountains. With the ranch, an alcoholic ex-wife, a shrewish mother and three kids to worry about, he has no interest in romance. But that doesn't mean he has given up casual sex with beautiful women.... But is either he or Dahlia prepared for the consequences of a sexy summer romp?

Wrong Narrator

Would you try another book from Anna Jeffrey and/or Sally Martin?

Anna Jeffrey maybe.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

I may have enjoyed the story with a different narrator.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Sally Martin?

Someone that wouldn't make Luke sound like a poor slow minded soul.

What would have made this romance irresistible?

A masculine male voice.

Excellent Writing, Great Plot

After a bit of a slow, but intriguing start, author Anna Jeffrey weaves a magical wordsmith spell from the time Dahlia Montgomery and Luke McRea meet, until the end of this memorable love story. I do label it with a XX rating and had to skip a few more pages than usual. However the plot and word-craft is so well written, that I must give it an excellent review. Jeffery's talent is clearly superior to the average writer as she paints the characters with real-world problems. From a husband who cheats, to a wife that drinks and a child damaged by both, Dahlia and Luke are more than discouraged. Finding their way across country and love hampered by family-responsibility, their passion engages the reader. Sparks ignite and burn into happy-ever-after. I would love to see this author stretch to a more mainstream love story without the explicit details. But that's my opinion. The fact is: excellent writing and great plot.

Great Book but not right Narrator

I HAVE READ AND REREAD THE CALLISTER TRILOGY AND WAS SO EXCITED TO SEE IT IN AUDIO, BUT WAS SOOOO DISAPOINTED IN THE NARRATOR. SHE DID NOT DIFFERENTIATE THE VOICES OF THE 2 MAIN CHARACTORS. MALE AND FEMALE SOUNDED ALIKE.
I HOPE THE OTHER 2 BOOKS BECOME AVAILABLE WITH A DIFFERENT NARRATOR
