Started in the middle, but went back to the beginning

I love listening to series where the stories progress. But I started in the middle and that was ok because the stories were complete in themselves. I love the Templeverse! Suggest it for anyone who like real people & situations with magic thrown into the middle. Highly recommend this series!!!’

Amazing!

I love this series! I was looking for something to read after devouring several other popular fantasy novels and series! I love the allusions and references to other works of art and literature!! It’s a different take on the wizard and very different from novels written by women! Loved all of it!

Fantastic Series, I'm hooked

I would put in the same realm of the Dreden Files series. I know that might rub some people the wrong way, but that is exactly what I would compare this too. I really enjoyed this box set, all four books were very exciting. The story, and the characters, and the narration. I am really looking forward to the next Box set to this series.

Be careful of some of the reviews you read, I had put this series off five years now because I had read some reviews and saw some criticism of Joel Richards narration sounding too monotone. I really have missed out on this series because of those reviews. Narration is so incredibly important of a facet to listening to audiobooks, at least it is to me. Regardless Joel will win you over, he is a very good narrator, if you only listen to the sample, you will not ascertain how talented he really is. Don't let those reviews fool you, because this is an elite series and if you are a fan of urban fantasy this series will rank up there with the best of them. I will have no issues listening to a Joel Richards Narrated book going forward. He is incredibly skilled, and now I will always associate his voice with Nate Temple.

Wasn't the worst thing I've heard, the "performance" in book 1 was a bit rough though.

Here's the thing about this series. It will cause belly laughter, angry fits of shock, gut wrenching sadness. Most of all, it will let you visit a world that could takes you away from reality. It is an amazing journey that let's you feel like you are hanging out with the characters and experiencing their sadness. Smooth writing, titan level story arcs, and God level character development. So, pour yourself a drink or the whole bottle. Find your quiet area and come visit the mental constructs of Shayne Silvers.

YES!

Dragons, vampires, giant fried chicken, and Grimms what's not to love. I will always highly recommend Shayne Silvers. Reading these books is great, but listening to them is even better. Joel Richard's does a fantastic job.

this was challenging

it was a challenge to make it through these books as you grow to care for the characters, or the constant struggles they endure. often breaks were needed between books as you go through and feel the heart break or the pain of trails Nate is put through. overall the stories are spectacular, the character growth is not quite there yet. however looking forward to the next box set.

just amazing.

This audio book series starts slow, with almost a monotone from the narrator it seems. but as the story progresses, the narrator seems to click into the story.

extremely well written, made me shed a tear in multiple places...

What a start for a new ride!!!

I remember finally making my decision to check out this series after hearing about it so often… and I am still blown away! This is my second time through and man… Silvers’ plot weaving and storytelling only seem to be even more impressive! The foreshadowing is mind boggling.
He does a tremendous job with character and relationship developments! How they interact with each other and the world around them. Their struggles and triumphs. Their fears and their courage. Their despair and their hope. Their darkness and their light.
Then you have the intricacies all that is going on, what has come before and what is still to come…! Silvers is definitely a modern author that Sir Cannon Doyle would tip his hat to in my opinion.
So do yourselves a favor check out this series if you haven’t and keep going if you have. Temple’s shenanigans have only just begun!

Joel Richards, the narrator for the audiobook, does a great job breathing life into our characters and giving them even more… character… 😉
