Publisher's summary

When new clients Jay and Camilla Givens come to Sharon McCone with Camilla's stories of devil worshippers performing human sacrifices in San Francisco, the detective is skeptical, to say the least. However, when she discovers that Jay is involved with the treasure hunting group the Night Searchers, she starts looking into what exactly he and the other participants are up to after dark. As she digs deeper into the Searchers, Sharon joins their ranks in order to find out more - while someone is searching for her.

Not the good old Sharon

Storyline as unbelievable as usual but still keeps you going. The narrator is terrible. She made it so trivial and silly.

One of the best writers in this genre

Any additional comments?

This is a great book and a great listen. I always enjoy learning more about Sharon McCone and what is going on with her relatives and friends. Marcia Muller shares this world that continues to build in my brain through the years. In the book, Night Searchers, there are very interesting concepts and lots of little twists and turns. I enjoyed it very much. Laura Hicks does a great job of capturing what I thought Sharon would sound like all along.

Two In A Row

I've been waiting for four of the earlier Sharon McCone mysteries to become available. In the meantime the last two selections in the series have totally mediocre and eminently lame.
In this particular book Sharon's old friend Glenn Solomon has sent her a squirrely couple with a weird story; only maybe it isn't. Thus begins a long convoluted story that was kind of creative if not very realistic or entertaining. The "Night Searchers" are connected with McCone's case and a case that her husband Hy Ripinsky is working at the same time. There are several strange incidents that bring them all together for no apparent reasons. It seemed as if the author had several portions of books and decided to toss them all on her screen then write a few pages to tie them all together. The three stars are a gift to all the very good books that I've appreciated over the years.
