Hard-hitting and amazing

What made the experience of listening to The Pilgrimage the most enjoyable?

The narrator's voice was spot on for such a book. It really captured the confusion, desperation and "lost" of that Paulo was experiencing throughout the events, and it instantly starts with such emotion which flows through the entire book. Every time you stop to listen to it, bang, you're right back into the world where you know nothing and are questioning everything, purely because of the superb narration.

What other book might you compare The Pilgrimage to and why?

It's like the Alchemist, but head on full on hard hitting lessons - lessons that make you cringe at times, but worth it.

Which scene was your favorite?

All of it.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It definitely made me uneasy at times... and laugh a few times.

I'm not sure what to think of this story is it true or is it made up it's written in the premise like it's true but it's a little odd at times.

thought provoking

I enjoyed this. I decided to give it a try after reading/listening to the Alchemist. The lessons and challenges that the main character had to overcome were thought provoking. The story itself is captivating and I'm glad I decided to get this book.

A Spiritual Walk to Holy Site

This bio-sketch is more of a spiritual journey of a highly trained and motivated individual. He is on a quest with a guide; this is his journal of this quest. My purpose in reading it was to get a spiritual feeling through his story. My effort fell short because I wasn’t willing to put in the work necessary to achieve a higher spiritual experience.

Excellent, Favorite Coelho Book So Far!

Fantastic example of a well written "hero's journey" style novel.

What other book might you compare The Pilgrimage to and why?

The Alchemist is similar yet very different, loved them both.

What insight do you think you’ll apply from The Pilgrimage?

Sometimes it takes a real "break" from the routine to appreciate what's already in front of your face!

Any additional comments?

Me = middle aged, educated, married, husband and dad, professional, executive always seeking, learning, finding depth and meaning to life ... if that describes you too, then READ THIS BOOK!

Inspiring and Intriguing

Loved the writing and narration. I've only recently discovered "The Alchemist" and have since listened to several Paulo Coelho books, none have disappointed, this was certainly no exception especially if you have any previous interest in The Camino De Santiago. It's very thought provoking, highly recommend this audiobook.

Good book, weird narrator voice

The story is very good and well written. The voice of the narrator is quite surprising, though, and if I hadn't wanted to listen to that book so much, only his voice would have turned me away. But he does well the interpretation of the different people in the story.

The book is great, audio...average

It is well read, but I listened to it in an iPhone 6s and 60% of the beginning of every word in each sentence was "cut" and in some cases it is not understood.
