About this listen

Elise Bennett is desperately seeking solace from the hands of the man who promised to love, honor, and cherish her til death do they part. Those vows had been forsaken long ago, leaving Elise to bear the brunt of the abuse happening within the walls of her home. Fearing for her safety and the safety of her children, she does the only thing she can think to do when opportunity arises … she runs.

While her intentions are noble, her methods are flawed, and she soon finds herself at the mercy of a stranger.

Safari Johnson is harboring pain from his past that he couldn’t shake if he tried. As the son of an addict and a kingpin, Safari has led a life of crime, beginning at the tender age of eight. At twenty-nine, he’s grown weary of his future in the family business. A chance encounter with a beautiful stranger has him ready to risk it all as his innate need to protect her has him at her every whim.

Outside forces threaten to destroy the bubble Safari and Elise have built for themselves. Between a vengeful husband and a controlling father, their happiness hangs in the balance. Will Safari and Elise get their happily ever after, or were they always doomed to fail? Enjoy this couple’s journey of love, revenge, and redemption.

Beautiful Love Story

The story of two people each trapped in a situation they didn't want to be in who find each other and the strength to love each other and heal. Safari was a flawed hero you couldn't help buy fall in love with. The female lead was very likable.

The Way I Inhaled And Exhaled This Story!!!

Calling Kimberly Brown to the front of the class. Ma’am, you did not have to come for my emotions like that! The Point of Exhale was everything! This book had me in a chokehold for the last 24 hours. I was all over the place. Anger, sadness, fear, happiness, and elation are just some of the emotions I experienced while reading this book. Elise and Safari meet each other at a time when they both needed saving and became each other’s saving grace. My heart broke for both of them for all the trauma and abuse they experienced. I just wanted to hug Safari. Considering what Niko and Jennifer put him through, he could’ve easily gone down a different path. Not that the life Niko gave him was any easier but, the alternative could’ve been so much worse. I loved that, after everything she put him through, Safari was able to forgive his mama and build a healthy relationship with her. Poor Elise. She endured so much pain at the hands of her husband but, she found the strength to escape her house of horror to give her babies a better life. While they didn’t make the best first impression when they met, there was something about Elise that made Safari just want to protect her and the kids. And, protect her he did. This man became her savior and her fiercest protector. At the same time, Elise became the peace that Safari had been searching for. These two were everything the other didn’t know they needed. If there were ever a couple deserving of a HEA, it’s Elise and Safari. Georgie Kimble and Tony Marks are new to me narrators. I won't say they did a horrible job but, they definitely need to work at becoming better performers. They're performance didn't come off as natural. Both narrators sounded as if they were reading from a script. The female narrator mispronounced Elise's name from start to finish. I'm not understanding how that wasn't caught before the recording started. And, the sex scenes were so cringy to listen to, I just skipped through them. I think both narrators have great sounding voices. They just don't know how to use them. The Point of Exhale was a beautifully written story. The subject matter (domestic violence, SA, drug addiction) will definitely trigger some folks but, it’s so worth the read.

Great story

Storyline was really good. Kimberly always gives a great story. The male narrator is new to me and did good job telling this story. The female narrator is also new to me. Her tone was great, but at times she sounded like she's talking in staccato. She sometimes sounded like Siri was narrating the book. Other than that I really enjoyed the book

This book had me crying laughing and inspired by the love they fell into. Abuse is a terrible thing but I’m glad Elise found the strength to fight back and Safari yummy, a good love story which I may have to listen to again ☺️. Great job Kimberly Brown. The narrators where good as well!
