About this listen

He is a spoiled playboy prince whose family is in desperate need of money.

She’s an American heiress who can only get her inheritance through marriage.

According to their families they are a perfect match.

According to each other, arranged marriages have no place in modern times and this could not possibly work.

But Prince Galahad “Gale” of Ersovia is bound by duty to obey the crown anyway.

Odette Wyntor doesn’t give a damn, she doesn’t want to get married.

Can he change her mind?
Can she even handle what it means to be royal, if he did?

The arranged marriage troupe done right!

I have read a lot of arranged marriage troupe's and I think that something that is missed a lot is the process of the characters falling in love and this book gives such a beautiful story of them falling in love. The characters are not just likable but they are relatable. I could not put this audio down, I actually wanted the day to hurry up and end so I could keep listening to it.

Book 2 Here I Come

This book sat in my Wishlist for close to a year because I am not a fan of those sugary predictable Hallmark type of books. This one pulled me in almost immediately because the male lead is my kind of mischief. Also, Shane East is my favorite "vanilla" narrator with that yummy accent. And since I am part of the Wesleigh's Besties crew, I had to support my girl. Admittedly, I wasn't sure how well the two of them would work together since I am used to her being paired with Jakobi or Emmanuel, but I think she did well as the Yang to Shane's Yin.

I am on to Book 2!

Off to a fantastic start!!!!!(Book 1 of 3)

I am smitten with this book!!! A fabulous modern fairytale with relatable issues. Gale is a fantastic hero! The swag on this guy! “You are my son, my moon and all of my stars….” Swoooooooon! Odette is cool, but definitely I hope she gets better in the next book. On to Book 2!

The Bold and Beautiful

When two stubborn and spoiled people are forced together because they need what the other has and then they have undeniable chemistry but fight it…, it makes for comedic heaven.

Gale and Odette start out as an unrehearsed orchestra who when fine tuned and practiced make a beautiful symphony.

There are the obvious bumps in the road mainly due to interference from the side characters who themselves are quite funny…well some are, others are just pains in the arse.

JJ McAvoy has crafted a story that is both engaging, entertaining and makes you root for the couple even though its a forced necessary match at first, and then blossoms.

The narration by Shane East is brilliant as is all his work. Wesleigh Siobhan is new to me and it took a while to get used to her voice for Odette as I much preferred the voice she used for Odette’s mother, but once I got accustomed to her it was fine.

I’m looking forward to reading more JJ McAvoy books!

Swoony Royal Romance!

Eeek, that cliffhanger!! Did not see that coming at all.

The Prince’s Bride (Part 1) is the arranged marriage/marriage of convenience tale between Odette, a society heiress and Gale, a royal prince from Europe. The nitty gritty is that Odette needs to get married and have kids to get her inheritance, and Gale’s family needs money after their father’s diagnosis of dementia has led him to mostly squandering royal money…so they need money.

This book is mostly Odette and Gale getting to know each other, despite both protesting the idea of an arranged marriage. They spend time together in Odette’s city (Seattle) basically dating and slowly warm to the idea of committing their lives together. There’s also some family drama that made me want to scream. I need to see how it’s resolved in the next book.

Part 1 ends on a tragic cliffhanger and I am downloading the next book ASAP. The audio was fantastic! Wesleigh Siobhan was perfect for Odette and Shane East’s accent for Gale had me swooning!
