About this listen

Sixteen years ago, an alien ship crashed into Carina Linderoth’s home.

Sixteen years ago, she saw her twin sister for the last time.

Since that night, Carina has spent every waking moment searching for answers. What happened to her sister? Why did the aliens take Sonja and not her? And why do people keep telling her she never had a twin sister—that Sonja isn’t real?

Now, 16 years later, Carina is approached by a mysterious genetic research company. They want her to work on a top-secret project, genetically engineering the human race with Eluridan—alien—DNA.

For any geneticist, it’s the opportunity of a lifetime.

For Carina, it’s something more.

This is her chance to return to Mount Desert Island, the scene of the crash, home to the stranded aliens. Back to the place where this all began. This is her chance to finally learn what happened to her sister.

If Sonja ever existed at all.

An amazing first book!

As far as I can tell, this is Erika LeClair’s first and only book so far, and I’m impressed. The story kept me guessing about what was happening and just when I was sure I knew, a new piece of information would blow it out of the water. I look forward to a second book, should one be written, that continues the story.

The narration by Shelley Reece was really good. The only problem was at times I would notice a sort of hiss, like white noise in the background. It didn't bother me that much, those times that I did notice it.

Really good

I really liked this story. The beginning hooked me immediately and I binged it in less that 24 hours. There were a few periods that were a little lull. I hope the author makes a sequel.

A good debut novel

The talent of this writer is evident. Since Carina's life is forever altered by the crash the night before, I was hooked from the beginning of the story. Her brilliantly executed search for the truth is brought to life by the layers of tension, emotion, and visually appealing details that are interwoven throughout. I found myself wanting to know what happened next at every opportunity, drawn in by the intriguing characters and plot twists. This book is probably for you if you like The X-Files. I highly endorse it. I am eager to continue reading this author's work.

Excellent

Great book and I hope there will be a boon 2 as of writing this I haven’t checked yet so there may already be a second one.
Absolutely loved this. Loved the characters too. Would highly recommend this title. Loved the twist and turns and what I theories happened to Sophie was completely wrong. That’s all I’ll say as I don’t want to give anything away.
I had many questions along the way and all were answered.
Narration by Shelley Reece was excellent. I would definitely listen to more narrated by her
