Resumen del Editor

The Argeneau family has a secret...one of their own is a rogue vampire!

Nicholas Argeneau was once a successful hunter who went after rogue vampires who broke the immortal law. Except no one has mentioned his name in the last 50 years, not since he turned into a rogue himself. But once a hunter, always a hunter. When Nicholas sees a bloodthirsty sucker terrifying a woman, it's second nature for him to come to her rescue. He had no idea he would also want to kiss her senseless....

One minute Josephine Willan is taking in a breath of fresh air, and the next sharp fangs are heading straight for her neck! Luckily, a gorgeous stranger saves her life...and gets locked up for his troubles. Can a man who kisses so lovingly and passionately really have committed the crime he's accused of? Jo isn't so sure...and she's determined to prove that this renegade hunter is worth fighting for.

Solid work, but character development bit lacking

Overall it is another good, solid book from Lynsay Sands. I just had a little more difficulty with the main characters than usual - but that is just my taste. If you are looking for another enjoyable book in the Argeneau series, with above average sex appeal tossed in, this is for you.

If you don't want a male lead that is a tad ridiculous - even bordering on silly in his efforts to "protect" his life-mate (just a bit over the top for my liking) this one is not for you. Common sense was just a bit lacking in Nicholas Argeneau IMHO. I also thought the development of Mortimer and Bricker as characters were a disappointment too - in comparison to their previous appearances.

she said with a grimace, he mentioned with a smirk

If I ever hear the word "grimaced" ever again I will end up on that show called Snapped. It took me nearly two weeks to finish this book. I made it till the very end with about 20 minuntes left to go and abandonded ship for a week. I only finished it because of a minor OCD thing. It was sickening how much TMI was in this book. A box of pizza was talked about on 7 different occasions, when it was purchased, how it was re-warmed, how the main character divided the slices on the plates with a grimace. ARRGGHHH!!! Never again. Sorry Linsay Sands but I am not a fan.

Just okay

The writing is a little weak. The story itself is fine, the feeling is that the author sort of lost interest - and I think this is true of most of the series. I really liked the first one I read - Single White Vampire - and I like some of the recurring characters - but as a whole it feels kind of formulaic and thrown together.

Skips works and dialogue

I love these stories and occasionally follow along in the book but a lot of the words the dialogue is replaced by grunts if he is reading the books I wish he would read them fully and annunciate some of these grunts are directions or commands and it really takes away from the story and makes you lose track of what’s happening

Good Story & Narration

Kirby Heyborne makes his first appearance in the Argeneau series as narrator and has an excellent editor/producer as well as a good reading voice. His emotion is good, maybe a little flat and slow, but acceptable and soothing to listen to. The story of Jo and Nicholas is good. I like Jo's feisty personality and tenacity. I like how she doesn't put up with "stupid" but calls it how she sees it. This story leaves you wanting to know what will happen next.

Decent but leaves you hanging with questions.

The storyline was decent and the story flowed well. I liked both main characters and liked how they came together. Their storyline was pretty good and had just enough action to keep you invested in it, but then you are left with the question "What happened"? There is a 50-year-old murder mystery surrounding our hero that is not answered! Oh, you find that HE didn't do the dead, but you're never told WHO did! I mean, damn, couldn't I at least have the HEA with some closure?

The narration was good but I do prefer someone with just a little more excitement in their voice. There were times when he just sounded very ho-hum and like he was bored with what he was reading. Overall, the story was worth a credit because it kept me entertained until the letdown at the end. Now I have to buy the next book just to know what happened and how he is innocent!

i will try others actually i'm about to go buy one now i wanna know anders's story

Do you think The Renegade Hunter needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

it defenitely needs a follow up i haven't checked yet but i'm gonna see if there isn't one cause even with an epilogue we don't find out in this book who the killer is really really upset me when they say **spoiler** lucien is coming to tell us what he found out...the end well some of us are still waiting to hear what he found

Good story

Setting: Toronto Contemporary
Genre: paranormal romance

Nicholas Argeneau, once an enforcer, a hunter of rogue immortals, is now a rogue himself, wanted for the murder of a pregnant mortal woman 50 years ago. But he can’t seem to quit hunting and is aiming to find and kill Leonius, a very old and very mentally ill type of immortal called a no-fanger. To that end, he is following Leonius’ son Ernie, even onto the grounds of the enforcer house, the headquarters of the hunters. He catches Ernie attacking Jo Willan who was taking a break from the party her sister and her boyfriend were hosting. After saving Jo, Nicholas figures out that she is his life mate. He had a life mate before, his immortal born wife, who had died in a car accident that had beheaded her. While Nicholas is kissing Jo, Ernie gets away, and the enforcers catch Nicholas and put him into one of the cells they have.. They try to erase Jo’s memory of Nicholas, but it comes back and she goes out to help him escape. The story continues as a sort of truncated road trip with Jo and Nicholas dodging danger, having lots and lots of sex, and figuring out the mystery of the past.
This is the 12th in the Argeneau series, and not too bad an entry. Some of books have been uneven in quality, and I’m happy to say that, except for a couple of instances of stupid, this is one of the better novels. The grammar and usage are good, and Sands’ trademark humor is present in the witty dialogue. It kept my interest (though I’m finally writing this review after the third reading, so I’ll admit to fast-forwarding through the sex scenes).
As for the narration... not my favorite performance. I do wish this series had one narrator for all the books. But not this one. He just didn’t capture the characters well — and Lucian sounded quite constipated (luckily he wasn’t in very many scenes, because it was quite distracting.
