Wendy Walker is the internationally bestselling author of suspense novels, including the Audible Originals Hold Your Breath, American Girl, and Mad Love. Her novels have been translated into 23 foreign languages, topped bestseller lists both nationally and abroad, and have been optioned for both television and film. Wendy holds degrees from Brown University and Georgetown Law School. Prior to her writing career, Wendy trained for competitive figure skating, worked as a financial analyst at Goldman, Sachs, and practiced both corporate and family law. She resides in Connecticut.

Reminded me of Walker’s first novel but with more mystery and suspense. Really like the different voices.

I randomly chose this book - just looking through the Audible Originals. I had no idea what I was in for - this tale is masterfully spun - doling out the details at just the right pace to keep you hungry for the next chapter. I listened to all of it in one day. Once I started, I had to see where it went. I won't give away any spoilers. I'll just say that it's one I want to listen to again - knowing from the beginning what is revealed by the end. Needless to say, I highly recommend this listen. Give your ears an adventure. It is also beautifully produced - great readers, bits of ambient noises at various moments, and the pauses between chapters - all heighten the experience just enough without being over the top. 15 out of 10 - well done.

I agree with the 5-star reviews. I would like to add that the performance style of this particular audiobook is excellent, IMHO. I mostly listen to Audible when I am going to sleep or if I wake up and can’t fall back asleep. I have tried other performance books, but the sound effects and music are too disruptive for me. Even listening to them in the daytime feels grating instead of enhancing the experience. This is a pitch-perfect performance, all around.
