Get dirt on his personal life—something salacious to please the money-hungry gossip rag I worked for. But I missed the moment Mac left the building. Or so I thought… Twenty minutes later, I saw actual Mac exit after the media left. Apparently, he’d used a decoy to throw off the press—waiting until everyone left to make his getaway in private. I started following the real Mac, and got more than I bargained for.

Found family romance with great narrators
Wow Daniela Romero’s first book in this series blew me away from the start of this audiobook until the cliffhanger at the end. Now I can’t wait for the next audiobook for The Striker while I read the ebook.
Ramona Masters and Noah Perez’s narrations were full of feeling and powerful emotional moments.
This story involves Cecelia who has a traumatic event in college that alters her life trajectory when she attempts to bring the perpetrators to light. After she attempts self harm, she is found by Gabriel, a soccer player who is a bit older. He has his own losses that impacted him and his family, leaving emotional scars that he struggles to manage. Gabriel and Cecelia become close friends as they try to manage their pain. When Gabriel introduces Cecelia to his friends, she feels like she has found a new friend family. In spite of her new friends, her emotional scars continue bleeding and she leaves them behind.
