big drama at the end but otherwise fun.

I really enjoyed this one despite the triggers all over it. it's awesome whenever the good women win

Stream of consciousness

Story was very rambling, stream of consciousness. Could use more editing. FPerformance was very good though.

Great book

Enjoyable. I had a great time listening to this while I was painting. Thank you

distracting vocal performance

The main character is 37, but the voice the reader gave her sounds about 80. It's really distracting and not appealing for a romance. The other characters don't sound much better. Will actively avoid listening to another story read by this reader.

Good story but

It would have been so much better if the FMC wasn’t an idiot in the third act.

Slow cooker

Interesting story but it took 6 hours and 8 minutes of story building to get to a point where Jasper and True both expressed overtly any feelings towards each other. There was still a slow process to finally reach the page turning conclusion. I score a one on heat. But the story does give a good historical perspective of the times and decent character development of all the different people involved with True and Jasper. If those types of stories are interesting to you it’s worth a credit.

Review

I truly enjoyed the story. Different than others. Unfortunately I didn’t like the narrator. It was hard to differentiate the characters. Sometimes she sounded like an old lady and didn’t give the characters their one personalities. I look forward to the next book but not sure I can read it with this reader.
