I love John Gray and Jamie Frazier
I can't wait for John's appearance on Outlander. There friendship and loyalty is refreshing. I hope whom ever is playing John will look like how I see him in my minds eye.

The Bigger Picture
This book definitely gives a bigger picture from the original story. As in life, there is more than one side.
The narrators managed the accents well, helping the reader get into character more so than if they were reading it themselves.
I would have preferred to have a woman narrate the female and child’s part.
Overall narrators flowed nicely, and did not bore or distract the reader, which I have had happen in other audible books.
Definitely recommend this book to anyone reading the Outlanders series, it ties in nicely.

Perfect except narration!
Everything was great, as usual, except the narration. Woodman did fine as Lord Gray, but Holmes' narration was terrible. He read in a British accent, instead of Scottish, and when he did attempt the Scotch, he really couldn't pull it off (and it certainly wasn't a highlander accent).
In the future, pleeeeeeeeease just have Davina Porter read. She runs circles around these two!

This novella is very exciting and features John Gray, Hal, Minnie, JAMIE, and William. I highly recommend this to any Outlander fan!

Transports you!
Love Lord John. He has come to the aid of so many. The list starts with Jamie, Claire, Brianna, Isabel, Geneveve, Lord and Lady Dunsonay, William, Hal and Minnie, the list goes on. Oh Harry Quarry... Well you get the idea. Read it... Listen to it or do both! Every character is so memorable.

Another great read by herself, Diana Gabaldon.
This book is very much worth reading. I looked forward to relaxing in the evening while jumping into the 1760's with Jamie, Lord John and young Willie.

Great complement to Outlander stories.
I enjoyed reading about Jamie and Lord John’s adventures in the time before Claire’s return. The narration for Jamie’s character I did not like me ch but I got used to it. Overall though the story was entertaining and I enjoyed the character development and plot twists.

Overall great!
I love the book itself. I’m not a fan of the split narrators. Would have been more enjoyable to just stick the the one narrator from the other lord john series. Or bring in davina porter to read Jamie’s view ( as we get his view by her in the main novels). Other than that the story itself is another great adventure with Lord John.

I wish Jeff Woodman would have narrated it all
I love this story, but I was disappointed in the narration of Rick Holmes. Compared with Jeff Woodman, his enunciation and accents are just not up to scratch. That said, the quality of the writing and the story itself were enough to keep me listening.
