Resumen del Editor
Penguin presents the unabridged audiobook edition of The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett.
'I've stolen a garden,' she said very fast. 'It isn't mine. It isn't anybody's. Nobody wants it, nobody cares for it, nobody ever goes into it. Perhaps everything is dead in it already; I don't know.'
After losing her parents, young Mary Lennox is sent from India to live in her uncle's gloomy mansion on the wild English moors. She is lonely and has no one to play with, but one day she learns of a secret garden somewhere in the grounds that no one is allowed to enter. Then Mary uncovers an old key in a flowerbed - and a gust of magic leads her to the hidden door. Slowly she turns the key and enters a world she could never have imagined.

Sons and Lovers, D. H. Lawrence's first major novel, was also the first in the English language to explore ordinary working-class life from the inside. No writer before or since has written so well about the intimacies enforced by a tightly knit mining community and by a family where feelings are never hidden for long. When the marriage between Walter Morel and his sensitive, high-minded wife begins to break down, the bitterness of their frustration seeps into their children's lives.

Historia
Ghost stories date back centuries, but those written in the Victorian era have a unique atmosphere and dark beauty. Michael Sims, whose previous Victorian collections Dracula’s Guest (vampires) and The Dead Witness (detectives) have been widely praised, has gathered twelve of the best stories about humanity’s oldest supernatural obsession. The Phantom Coach includes tales by a surprising and often legendary cast, including Charles Dickens, Margaret Oliphant, Henry James, Rudyard Kipling, and Arthur Conan Doyle, as well as lost gems by forgotten masters such as Mary E. Wilkins Freeman and W. F. Harvey. Amelia B. Edwards’s chilling story gives the collection its title, while Ambrose Bierce ("The Moonlit Road"), Elizabeth Gaskell ("The Old Nurse’s Story"), and W. W. Jacobs ("The Monkey’s Paw") will turn you white as a sheet. With a skillful introduction to the genre and notes on each story by Sims, The Phantom Coach is a spectacular collection of ghostly Victorian thrills.

The Voyage Out is Virginia Woolf's haunting tale about a naïve young woman's sea voyage from London to a small resort on the South American coast. In symbolic, lyrical, and intoxicating prose, her outward journey begins to mirror her internal voyage into adulthood as she searches for her personal identity, grapples with love, and learns how to face life intellectually and emotionally. Fantastic Reader!
This narrator nailed the Yorkshire accent, paused at just the right moments, and did a beautiful job of capturing the personalities of each character. My daughter needed to read the book for an assignment over Christmas break, and listening to it felt like a treat. I highly recommend this performance.

Listened with my 5 year old daughter before letting her watch the 1993 movie. It was perfect. The accents were stylized enough to give the idea, but clear enough even she could understand the broad Yorkshire.

Absolutely awesome
This was a delightful surprise.
The Narrator was perfect and the classic story holds the warm and fuzzy feeling throughout. I recommend it to everyone.

Amazing story and performance!
Absolutely beautiful story. The narrator was ASTOUNDING. Worth every single minute. A story I will remember for the rest of my life.

Mágico
Um bom livro. Fofo e aquece o coração. Em alguns momentos um pouco simplista, descrições muito longas da natureza. Mas pra um livro mais infantojuvenil é ótimo. Um classico

Most Marvelous
Brimming with hope and healing.
Forget the movie
Forget the remake of the movie.
This is a book that would be well read after dinner when all are ready for bed Or anytime. I like books when I listen to the Audio. It warmed my heart.

Magic!
I have been so exhausted by all of the depressing news on the tube and the net that I needed to read/hear something uplifting for a change. This audible is so well done. Probably one of the best narrations I have heard of any of the audibles I have enjoyed. I found myself practicing my own broad Yorkshire on my dog walks. Highly recommend.
