A Wonderful End to a Most Marvelous Journey

Terry got the catharsis in early, and left this listener enjoying every word of the Crown through a susurration of sighs.

A soupçon of cameos — enough to satisfy without cluttering the tale — but not a pungent overpopulation of personages.

I have read and listened to the 'witch cycle' more often I think than even the 'watch cycle', and I prepared myself for this last tale with a rehearing of the Tiffany Tales.

The maturation of Mistress Aching in this book is another fine example of Terry's craftsmanship. She comes into her own completely, while we take part in her continuing exploration of her worlds.

I started sobbing when Granny started scrubbing her privy, and then cried and laughed as the story unwound.

Three cheers and five stars for this final chapter.

Oblong.

Terry's last book and he went out proud.

I can only imagine how this book would have turned out if he wasn't dieing. It's good, not his best, but still good. He did his legacy justice with this last story. Good to know that the disc world will be in good hands with Tiffany.

Pratchett’s final book brings Tiffany into her own adult life

As Terry Pratchett’s final book and the last of the series about Tiffany Aching, this did not disappoint. Readers get to see Tiffany as witch, leader, and manager. There’s an action-packed battle against the faeries, with many beloved characters getting their boots into the action. Tiffany comes into her own self and the book ends with her just beginning to live it. What happens next? The author invites readers to imagine it for themselves. Thoroughly satisfying, and a little sad for everyone who loves the author and the Discworld.

Crivens, it's a great read!

Loved it. Have loved all the books about Tiffany. Consistent but never same and always a delight to discover.

enthralling

I am a big fan of Terry Pratchett . I have read all his books, and now have a number of them on audible. This was not one of the more complex story lines, but was so true to the character and well performed that I did not want to stop listening. It is sad that it is his last book, but joyous to know his wit and wisdom stayed with him till the end.

A worthy ending

Fantastic book, Terry Pratchett through and through.

His genius will be sorely missed. The prologue almost made me cry as I arrived to work.

Last Pratchett. RIP Sir Terry

I re-listened to the whole discworld series before letting myself enjoy this last book by Sir Terry Pratchett. It was worth it.

Loved the final Tiffany Aching story

I got into reading Terry Pratchetts Discworld series late and had a lot of catching up to do. I have loved his wit and wisdom all along the way and one of my all time favorite characters has been Tiffany Aching. I'm happy that Sir Terry got to tell one last story of her life as he finished his own astounding story and life well done sir and you will be missed but thank you for all the story's along the way. This book as all of his books is wonderful don't miss it.

A Sad Goodbye

As always, incomparably narrated, the Shepherd's Crown told so much about who this marvelous author was and who he strove to be. We will miss him.
