Publisher's summary

Professional “cleaner” Jonathan Quinn has a new client and an odd job: Find and remove the remains of a body hidden 20 years ago inside the walls of a London building, before the building is demolished.

But Quinn and his team are being watched. Suddenly caught in the cross fire between two dangerous rivals, Quinn must unravel the identity of the body and why it still poses so great a threat even in death. Because a plot stretching from the former Soviet Union to Hong Kong, from Paris to London, from Los Angeles to Maine, is rapidly falling apart. And Quinn hasn’t been hired just to tie up loose ends - he is one.

Good listen-keeps your attention

Would you listen to The Silenced again? Why?

Yes, I will listen to it again. I recently discovered Brett Battles does write my kind of books and, of course, Scott Brick makes the listening even better.

What did you like best about this story?

I like the character in the book and will listen to other books in the series.

What does Scott Brick bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Scott Brick just does a good job on any book. When choosing a new author and I see Scott has the narrated the book, I will give it a try.

Very exciting read

This the the fifth book in this series that I have read in a row. I have lots of other books by authors that I have been reading for a while, but I can’t read them until I have tea all of the Jonathon Quinn novels to date. I need to know what happens next. This book continues the same kind of adventure and mystery that the previous books did. Keep up the great writing and I’ll keep reading.

Fantastic sequel.

What made the experience of listening to The Silenced the most enjoyable?

Picking up where book 1 left off, this second book keeps up the characters and story lines with spectacular consistency. I thoroughly enjoy this series

Another quality Quinn book.

I generally think of Bricks voice as John Corey but he does a good job of getting me to picture another guy in my head. good story by battles. this was a character plot hole in the other books that he took head on. you don't normally see these guys with family.

More History on Quinn's Personal Life

This book gives more personal history on Quinn who has always tried to keep his past life hidden. I liked getting more background on his strained relationship with his sister and father. I don't want all of the books to contain this much backstory, but it was good to know a little more about his life in Minnesota.

There aren't any twists in the story, and the traitors/bad guys are identified early in the story. It's not really suspenseful but the story does keep the reader engaged. I like the dynamics of Quinn and his team, but I do find Orlando to be an unbelievable character. A 5' small frame Asian who can take down skilled operatives and manage to fly all over the world even though she is a single parent is a little much. On the other hand, I think Quinn is unique and I like that he is a cleaner versus an operative.

This is a great listen!!!

Would you listen to The Silenced again? Why?

Yes. I enjoy rereading Brett Battles novels. They are full of action and suspense. His writing is a plus, too. Listening to Scott Brick only made the novel better.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Nate. He had to take charge of this operation. He proved that he could be a professional Cleaner. His days as an apprentice are over. Quinn is a great teacher.

Which scene was your favorite?

Finding Quinn so that he could be involved in the operation.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Come and watch the great Quinn perform his operations, they will thrill you till the end, leaving you wanting more.

Any additional comments?

Be sure to read the series. You will not be disappointed.

Kept me awake until finished.

It is hard for me to tell what is better, the story or the performance. This is one of the best narration I heard from Scott Brick.
The only problem with this series is that read a book in a weekend almost not sleeping until I finish!

Already downloading the next in the series.

Another good book in the series

This is a very good book in the series. The characters have developed well. I’m looking forward to the next one. As always Scott Brick is the best narrator.
