About this listen

Journey back to a time of scandal, intrigue, and reckless desire in Madeline Hunter's sensuous new novel, the tale of a man who will give up everything for the woman he's determined to possess - even reveal his most sinful secret.

Only a desperate mission could bring Leona Montgomery face-to-face with the scoundrel whose dangerous sensuality once sent her fleeing from his arms. But she has underestimated Christian, Marquess of Easterbrook. As irresistible as ever, his past swathed in mystery, Christian has his own plans for the woman he has waited seven years to claim. Yet once desire reignites, bringing a dangerous secret into the open, Leona will find herself bound to the seductive nobleman in ways she could never have imagined.

Seven years have changed nothing: This man can tempt her to ruin with just one touch. With Leona's reputation and hopes for her family's salvation in tatters, she must follow the only course left to her...even as each step brings her closer to a shattering truth and a passion she can no longer live without....

Contains mature themes.

The best for last

Christian was my favorite of the brothers. I don’t have any complaints. Great story. Lovely way to end the series.

This Is A Rating For The Whole Series Except One

I listen to three of the four books in this series: the first, the third and fourth. The first and third books held my interest and were interesting stories. I listened to the 4th but can't say that it held my interest mainly because the sex scenes were little over the top in that the heroine became a little too simple minded, like she would forget her business-self way too many times. Okay okay I understand that a really great lover can make you lose your mind a couple of times but definitely not each and every time so much so that you look stupid. I would guess the author used this device to move the storyline in direction she wanted it to go, but IMO she used it way too many times. The first and third books held my attention which were read by Duerden and.Simon Pebble. Pebble is a really good narrator but his female voices sounds way too old for a twentysomething woman, don't get me started when it comes to young children or young adults. Books with too much romance or too many women is definitely not Prebble's forte!
Just a word or two about narrator Jill Tanner. She's awful. She reads choppy sentences, Mainly because she reads sentences with way too many seconds between each one. She takes a deep breathe as she begins to read the next sentence and lurches into the sentence as if she must be the first out of the blocks in a reading contest.
I've complained to Audible for more than 15 years about how the wrong narrator can ruin a good book while the right narrator can elevate a mediocre book.

Narration so distracting, I can't get through book

I am normally a huge Madeline Hunter fan. I have quite a few of her audible books. Sadly the narration for this one is so distracting I can get through this one.
