My life was going just fine by most standards. I ran a successful business in a tight-knit magical community, and lived just blocks from a beautiful lake and series of hiking trails. Then Selene showed up. According to some magical code I inherit my aunt's ancient familiar; a grumpy ten-pound cat with a broken filter. She fancies herself something of a saber-toothed tiger, and claims to have wrestled the thread of her ninth life from the hands of the Fates themselves—although, I'm pretty sure that last part isn't true. Almost positive.

Cheesy way to reuse story lines to make money.
How to make easy money? Write an outline of story lines of Sookie Stackhouse novels. Then have people read them and sell them on audible.

Cliffs notes
Other than the Charlaine Harris story at the beginning it’s basically cliffs notes of each book. And they picked actors without accents which I find a bit strange for a book about characters in the south and vampires with very regionally/historically specific accents

Just irritating recap! Can I get my credit back?
I can't BELIEVE this waste of money is rated as highly as ît is. It opens with one very lovely short story about Sam's brother's wedding. There are some dialogues between various characters - emails and phone calls between Eric and Bill (with voice actors that sound like a couple of Midwestern salesmen, nothing like the characters should. The Pam voice is great.). I understand there are some interviews between the author and Alan Ball, some Q & A with fans. But I'm not going to get that far. As soon as I'm done with this review, I'm done with this book because the bulk of this "book" is just a summary of most of the previous Sookie stories! I can see ZERO purpose for this beyond the milking of a few more bucks from ardent Stack house fans with no real added value to the Sookie oeuvre. I wouldn't mind hearing all the dialogue pieces together but the summaries are too annoying to slog through. Since the chapters are only numbered and not titled, I can't sort them.
The short story and dialogues should be grouped together, separate from the book summaries and sold separately, too. Had I realized the bulk of this work was recap of the books I already read or listened to, I would never have wasted my monthly credit on it.

Not worth the credit
There’s only one story in this and that’s from when Sookie and Sam went to his brother’s wedding. Otherwise it’s just the spark notes version of the books. There’s a solid 5 hrs just of recalling the whole series, day by day. The rest is just information about the author and the TV show.

Not what it seems
This has some interesting extras but mostly this is a full synopsis of all of the books in the series with a question and answering section at the end. If you have read all of the books, no real point in buying this.

its a series recap
If you like listening to a 30 min to hour ish long recap of each book to get an extra 30 seconds of non essential easily surmised information then this is the book for you. Total waste of time imo

Very dissappointed!
This book really bummed me out. It wasn't at all what I expected and it definitely wasn't what I hoped for. If someone feels like skipping all Sookie Stackhouse books it would be helpful, but then what's the point anyway. I didn't see it as a "companion" I saw it as a rip off. I think the description was really misleading as well. Big Dissappointment. It really seemed like a way for the publisher to make money off Sookie fans. I can't see a true fan of all of the books enjoying this at all. The Bill and Eric voices were absolutely horrendous. No offense to the guys who read them, but they just did NOT work for the characters.

Short story is OK. But this isn't worth a credit
I rate all of the Sookie novels high and the short story read by Johanna Parker was good. However this book has so much filler. I would have preferred to read it on a Kindle and skip most of it. The summary of all the novels was OK but a fan doesnt need that. The secret communications between Eric & Bill was definitely interesting. Though the two guys reading as Bill and Eric are experienced narrators, they weren't convincing in these roles. For example Bill had no Southern accent. I am not a fan of the TV show. That's another topic, but Steven Moyer nails Bill, IMO, and the show does have great actors. This Companion Novel lost my suppport when i reached the chapter dedicated to the President of the Charlaine Harris fan club. Seriously, who cares! That was filler.
