one of the best books I have ever read, the ups and downs. twists turns. amazingly written and the suspense was good

great story, had to get used to the narrator

loved the story. However, it took a bit to get used to the narrator. i had to speed it up as she talked so slow! But when that was all dealt with I was hooked and wanted to know how it would end so badly that I couldn't stop listening!

A rare find, excellent all around!

I listen to a lot of books and this one was near to perfect. Excellent story that kept you guessing and thinking, extremely well read and overall excellent entertainment. I loved the history woven through the story and the way so many seemingly unrelated threads were tied together.

This was a great story and listen. Really enjoyed it. Great narrator! Kept my attention throughout. Did not guess who was behind everything until they told me. Found the story with a journalism interesting, something different than detectives and cops etc...

I really enjoyed this audio recording. I don't think that I have read this author before. I liked the different story lines and the 2 narrators (narrators in the story, not the reader). I particularly liked the story about Rose and Lillian in the '40s. My only problem was that there were 2 questions that I felt were unanswered.
1: Who pretended to be Barbara? Was it Wally?
2: Atherton Cass's death was revealed to be murder and. not suicide, did Melissa get the life insurance $?

AMAZING!!

It kept me engaged from the get-go! I couldn't stop listening. I loved every bit of it!

Great Twist

This was a slow burn at first then I couldn't stop listening! All the twists and turns made this an amazing listen!

Hidden Gem

The beginning was slow and hard to follow so I had to restart the book 4 times but when I finally got to the end I was crying. Great read
