Publisher's summary

The noted Catholic psychologist, Dr. G.C. Dilsaver, says the time has come for Catholic families to re-discover true patriarchy - time for Catholic men to accept and fulfill their role as leader and head of their families.

The role of Christian manhood, as ordained by God and confirmed by Catholic teaching, is symbolized by three staffs: the Scepter of authority and self-discipline, the Crosier of spiritual headship, and the Cross of redemptive suffering.

Dr. Dilsaver promotes a new and untainted patriarchy in which the husband's ultimate authority is rooted in Christ's example of humility and self-sacrificing love.

The Three Marks of Manhood can help Christian families realize their identity to the fullest - empowering them to resist the encroachment of secular culture. Listen to it and learn how to build a strong and lasting marriage, raise children to become faithful men and women of God, and foster an authentic Catholic culture in your home.

Dr. Dilsaver, with his development of the first fully integrated Christian psychology, Imago Dei Psychotherapy, is truly the father of Christian psychology; with the publication of The Three Marks of Manhood, he may also be the father of a new Christian patriarchy.

Most needed book for men and women in our time

Had this book on Kindle for a while and sooooo glad they finally did the audiobook version.

Dr. Dilsaver is ruthless in showing why Catholic Christian patriarchy is the only true family structure and the only way to have harmony.

The book was a splash of cold water and challenges men to sacrifice everything in love for their family so that their family will WANT him to lead them. It is counter cultural but what man wouldn't want to be 100% master of himself and what woman wouldn't want to follow a husband that sacrifices everything for her love?

Just a warning that it can be a little heady, so you might want to read "Wild At Heart" by John Eldredge to understand the heart of The message before diving into this book.

Amazing book.

Excellent!

This is one of the best books I've ever come across, and the only on this subject that is worth reading. Everyone, especially young married couples, need to get this book.

This is a great book! - Pleasant Voice and Good Reading Speed!

This book addresses the perverted image that society and tradition have projected on to many Christian husbands and fathers. An image of total dominance over their wives and children as the manifestation of the divine order of familial headship. More importantly, in my opinion, this book addresses the misconception of male superiority. The author presents an alternative to that imagery, one which calls attention to how to live out the ordination placed on Christian husbands and fathers as the head of the family unit in which the husband and father's ultimate authority is rooted in Christ's example of humility and self-sacrificing love.
