Publisher's summary

State Road 177 runs along the Suwannee River, between Fargo, Georgia, and the Okefenokee Swamp. Drive that route from east to west, and you'll cross six bridges. Take it from west to east, and you might find seven. But you'd better hope not. Titus and Melanie Bell leave their hotel in Fargo for a second honeymoon canoeing the Okefenokee Swamp. But shortly before they reach their destination, they draw up to a halt at the edge of a rickety bridge with old stone pilings, with room for only one car....

When, much later, a tow-truck arrives, the driver finds Titus lying in the middle of the road, but Davina is nowhere to be found.

Wonderful

I loved it. It reminded me of Steven King, to a point. My only nitpick is the audio seemed to drag in places making accents feel over done. I adjusted the play back speed to 1.15 and that seemed to clear it up for me. Could have been a bad dowlload or even just my phone.

Could not stop listening

I listen to books while I work and normally catch a third of them if they are okay. This book I listened to and loved. It was not at all what I expected. Performance was amazing.

Creepy as ……..

Nothing. It’s an awesome listen. Speed it up to 1.05 or 1.1 due to the slack jawed locals!

Unique

Held off for a long time getting this one, waiting for more reviews. It was unique in it’s writing, and overall I dare say I enjoyed it. Don’t regret the purchase.

Did…. stretch the ending out for quite a while. Like the author wanted to add an extra hundred pages. But I don’t mind that no never mind.

Hard to listen to eight hours of southern accents without picking them up a little bit.

Great story and loveable characters

Wow! This was a great listen mainly because of the narrators ability to do so many different voices and inflections. He made you feel as tho you were right there with these characters. And I cared about every character, which is unusual. Cam is adorable and the ladies sweet. I hope there are sequels to this story. Great writing and fantastic narration!!

Another excellent Gothic horror story from Cherie Priest

If you like gothic horror you need to listen to this one. It makes you wonder all the way to the end what’s finally going to happen. Highly recommend

good stuff here but overall meh

The narrator gave his all and I enjoyed him. The author writes well, no cliches or tired, gimmicky, repeated lines, but the book was slow which left me too restless to keep my interest. I finished the book but felt unsatisfied in the end.

A good Southern horror

It had a really good build up. Don't know if I loved the ending but was a good listen nonetheless.

Left my expectations in the dust!

I was entirely expecting this book to be a time killing flop, but I was 100% wrong, it was awesome in every aspect. The story was engaging, well written, original and weirdly believable. Narration was top notch, each character well defined and beautifully done, though I struggled to like the southern drawl at times (I’m from that general area and no one talks *that* slow, but overall it was great. A very pleasant surprise.
