A fitting conclusion that ties it all together.

What did you love best about The Torn World?

The writing flow Melanie has created here is magnificent. The missions to get needed supplies do not feel as they are created to give more story, the missions fit the places the characters are. The story feels as it fits in it's world and where the people are without creating situations to get to where the characters are. I love this complete feel for the characters and world.

Melanie never leaves me wanting in magic, fae, and zombies in this book. We get it all wrapped in one little package. All the special traits the characters have are seen and enjoyed.

What does Kristin James bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Kristin returns as our narrator to finish off the series. I'm thrilled she's been a constant with these books. Kristin voices each character with accents and tones we've come to associate with them. She fluidly shifts from one voice and personality to another with all being present in one book. I never get a feel of the audio stopping and starting as I listen. The characters feelings and tones match through out their sections and smoothly transition to new emotions as they arrive with events.

Any additional comments?

We get POV's of all three of our young ladies who've brought us this far; Layla, Cricket, and Amelia. All three have a different ability that is needed to help survive and bring the living to a point that they can carry on. These ladies have all had their hearts filled or broken through the series. And have become stronger in this devastating world.

This is the conclusion to the harvesting series. I'm working hard to not tell all with this review. We get our action and fights along with nervous moments trying to get what the characters need. Nothing is convenient for the characters.

We get our romantic moments and gazes too. Cricket and Tristan, Amelia and Logan are falling for each other. And maybe a few others of the group are flirting.

I enjoyed the ending. We get all our answers. We also see something new for the characters. And... from a different POV that gives us a great view of everything on how it is after all this. What we see in the end, may or may not be what you were wanting, but it feels right. The hints are all there to draw to this ending. Well done.

Good wrap up for the story

Would you consider the audio edition of The Torn World to be better than the print version?

I didn't read it - only listened so it's not fair to compare the audio to the written.

What other book might you compare The Torn World to and why?

It's a zombie book with a female as the bad ass heroine.

Which character – as performed by Kristin James – was your favorite?

Layla was my favorite character. Her skill was explained by her previous career. Think grandma could have avoided problems to help her granddaughter a bit more but...

The Torn World

What a great ending to a beautiful series! I enjoyed this series very much. So many great characters and so many strong female heroines, I can't just choose one favorite. The author made me want to read the rest to find out what happens next in this amazing world. What I journey I felt I went on with all these wonderful characters. I think if you like zombies or even if you like the supernatural you will love this series! I enjoyed the narration by Kristin James as well very much! I think the narration helped bring the series to life for me. * I received this book from the author, but this is my honest review*

Great End To A Great Series!

The Torn World is the final conclusion in the series and even tho I was sad the story ended, this one did not disappoint. The whole series is amazing! Starting with a zombie apocalypse that surprisingly morphed into so much more! The narrator did an amazing job bringing the characters to life!

Love These Characters

I'm gonna be honest. I didn't want this to end. The author blends the many aspects of the supernatural beautifully. Other books try to do even less and fail spectacularly.
I am also not going to lie about shedding tears. I was attached to these characters and their lives meant a lot to me.
I would read more and more of these. I long for more Crickett and her family.
The narration was perfect as usual.
I was given an audio version of this book; all opinions are my own.

Sorry to see this finish!

*Sigh*, so we say goodbye to this world and these characters! This series absolutely took me by surprise, in how much I ended up loving it!! I didn't really know what to expect with the first book, but I did not expect to become so invested in the characters and world. And here we are with the final edition and I'm not ready to say goodbye!!

So our 3 major characters, Layla, Cricket and Amelia have finally teamed up and it's all the better for it. They each bring their own strengths and it makes for an amazingly addictive read. I'm not going to go into the plot because since it's the final book, you're better off going into it knowing nothing!! Suffice it to say that this is an epic end for an action packed, entertaining, addicting and captivating world.

I think why I loved this series is because the characters were all easy to like and engaging and the world building was stunning! The lore and the weapons!!! ;) Each of the lead female characters were kick ass and capable as well.

In all, this book, and indeed, the whole series was amazing. It's well written and developed, the concept was fresh and entertaining and the writing just grabbed you and pulled you in! Highly recommend and I highly recommend you read them in order to fully benefit from the world and characters.

I really thought Kristin James was a great pick for these books. Her ability to bring the world and characters to life was amazing. I felt she truly understood the lead characters and gave them all their own personalities.

Zombies, Vampires & Ghouls what's not to like.

A somewhat spoiler ahead. All three main characters Layla, Cricket and Amelia are now together in Witchwood, trying to figure a way to save their friends and world. Still a great series, only this time I didn't like how things ended up with Jamie and Layla. But other than that I loved it and am glad I discovered this author, this book has a great world building. I guess I shouldn't have been surprised how Jamie ended up, no character is safe in this series. Melanie Karsak manages to pack a lot of plot into her short books, which I for one am glad about. Never a dull moment in the survival of the human race. This series should be read in order. I can't wait to see what Melanie Karsak comes up with next. Narrator is good.
