Solid short story collection!

I really enjoyed this, even the first story that's yet another retelling of his origin, but is made somewhat unique by hearing in book format. The Mysterio short story is a real dud (it legit makes no sense, felt very rushed with a complete lack of ending), but otherwise this is very enjoyable, with excellent narration throughout by Rivera, particularly his JJJ! Definitely recommend it!!

Great Collection of Novellas and Short Stories

I got this expecting a continuous story. That wasn't what I got. I was also expecting this to be based off the Ultimate Spider-man comics. Didn't get that either. This, however, was fantastic. I'm really glad I picked this up! The collection is fantastic!

Great Anthology That Makes Me Miss Earlier Spidey Days

I throughly enjoyed this anthology series. Each story felt unique and important, showcasing Peter at different points in his history as Spider-Man.

I loved the first story giving more insight into Peter’s head the day of his uncle Ben’s death, including what he was doing at the time it went down. It was also great for Aunt May, Ben himself, Liz Allan, and Flash Thompson. Subsequent stories worked very well getting into the characters of some of his major villains. I loved the twist involving the Venom story.

The final story was poignant, bittersweet, and very touching. As a lifelong Peter and Mary Jane shipper, this story as well as them being married for most of the stories (the first one obvious predating their first meeting, though I secretly hoped it would be mentioned that Mary Jane actually witnessed Peter leave his room as Spider-Man and thus knew all along. A fact that was revealed after they were already married). This anthology, especially with the final story centering Peter and MJ, made me miss their marriage more than I already had. I hope someday Marvel undoes that horrible retcon and realizes that stories like these show that drama, intrigue, etc can still happen even though characters are married,

Finally, I need to praise the writers for understanding Spidey and nailing every characterization of every character, providing twists and emotions. And I must absolutely applaud Thom Rivera who is PHENOMENAL as Spidey. He sounds like versions of the character I experienced in other audiobooks, animated series’s, and video games. He also did great work as each of the supporting characters. And the villains? WOW. He DID that!!! I would love if he did even more voice work for Spidey, Marvel, and even comics in general! Looking up his other work NEOW!!!

Spider-Man

In general a great audio book for Spider-Man fans. Some of the stories were better than others but no real misses. Most of the stories seemed to have to do with “human” or psychological problems. The first story or origin was the best. The last 2 finished strong with the last actually pulling in lots of emotion.

The So-So Spider-Man

I’m a huge Spider-Man fan and have heard great things about this book online but honestly I don’t see what other people love about it. The narrator does a fine job but the stories inside are kinda boring and stale. This is definitely the bottom of the list Spider-Man book.

exciting at first

i was excited from the foreword from stan lee and the first chapter, but then the story turned into life lessons and morals we've heard 1000 times. them rivera does a great job bringing everyone to life but the stories are lacking in some regard or are too predictable. I enjoyed it but some things felt forced or unnecessary.
