Publisher's summary

Far out on the Eastern Fringe, the realm of Ultramar stands alone. Having weathered the Word Bearers' attack on Calth and the subsequent Shadow Crusade against the Five Hundred Worlds, the Ultramarines primarch Roboute Guilliman now draws all loyalist forces to Macragge as he contemplates a new future for mankind.

With the arrival of more and more fugitives from the war that has engulfed the rest of the galaxy, all distinction between friend and foe is lost - isolated from Terra by fearsome warp storms, is Guilliman making a bid for power to rival even the renegade Warmaster Horus?

Why don't people like this!?

I don't understand why people dislike this. It's awesome! Guilliman's snarky mom, how Guilliman feels about his mom, the interactions between the brothers, and the lower key but still bad to bone action. I totally recommend this if you like legitimate human interaction in a 40k story.

Amazing

Dan Abnett does it again. Multiple storylines intersect in this incredible installment to produce a suspenseful and elegant tale. Five primarchs in one book, Dan you madman!

Masterfully written and narrated.

Book after book, Dan Abnett is still, in my opinion, the Grand Master of W40K.
This novel could have been a boring political drama, but Abnett made it into a thrilling story that will be surely thoroughly enjoyed by every W40K fan.
One of the very best in the HH series.

glad I didn't skip this one.

I hate the Ultramarines, maybe I'll just skip this one... nah let's get into it. Okay we've got some Cabal storyline, I'm in. Another surprise guest, I'm intrigued. Is that?? YES LET'S GOOOOO
spoiler free, but this is a free for all of storylines and it's the best showing of my favorite Traitor Primarch. They did my boy justice

Dan Abnett and David Timson

There is a beauty in a writer’s words being brought to life and this book is a testament to that. Unremembered Empire is a story of brotherly love shown in the most epic way.

My favorite Horus Heresy book so far

Characters actually do things in this book and the story is moved forward. Guilliman, Vulcan, Conrad and the Lion all move the story forward. Almost 30 books and we are getting past year 1 of the 9 year Heresy.

If you are an Ultramarine player you will enjoy some depth into Guilliman. If you are a fan if Warhammer 40k then you should be happy to see main characters get some time. The cabal story line is hopefully going to take a back seat now and hopefully we get some Horus in the Horus Heresy series.
