There was a time when the world was sweeter...when the women in Beaufort, North Carolina, wore dresses, and the men donned hats.... Every April, when the wind smells of both the sea and lilacs, Landon Carter remembers 1958, his last year at Beaufort High. Landon had dated a girl or two, and even once sworn that he'd been in love. Certainly the last person he thought he'd fall for was Jamie, the shy, almost ethereal daughter of the town's Baptist minister....

Beautiful
Beauitful book. I've heard and read this book at least 10 times. After being married myself for over 20 years it brings me comfort and hope. Too many times life gets busy and we forget to do the most basic of things for our spouses that we do for strangers. This is a great reminder to stop and really look at your spouse and let them know how much they mean to you.

Happily ever after
These book was NS special. He never disappoints. I enjoyed this very much. It showed how marriage can be taken for granted all too often and all too fast. Wilson messed up big time and his marriage wasn't important to him. He never did terrible things and but taking one's partner for granted is painful and sad. Love your spouse.

So Beautifully Romantic
I could relate to the feeling of distance, apathy and disappointment this couple experiences.
Any married twosome will understand the ebbing emotions & insecurities of a long-lived marriage.
However, with a little kindness, a bit of tenderness and a lot of re-evaluation can help restore the “newlywed passion” of yesteryear. There truly can be fairy tale endings if there is enough love.

perfection...
I so loved this book, my husband of 43 years who passed in 2018... we had the tides of life; the highs and lows. This book helped more of the healing and "regrets" to be seen as how life is, for all of us! The tears were those of joy unappreciated in the bustle, and struggles of raising children, financial juggling, and... just life.
Thank you
