About this listen

Indulge in a sexy stand-alone romance performed with duet narration from Andi Arndt and Joe Arden and with special appearances from Emma Wilder and Tony Award winner Santino Fontana!

It should be an easy rule to follow - don't bang your boss.... But I didn't know who he was when I met him. And the first time I saw him, our connection sounded like the stuff of romantic legends - that whole "their eyes locked across a crowded room" moment that turned into more.

I didn't believe it...until it happened to me. Fine, the charming, clever, sexy-as-sin guy in the tailored suit was only trying to buy the same Snoopy lunchbox (as a gift!), but still, our eyes totally locked, and my lady parts definitely tingled as we vied for the prize. Naturally, I did what any badass business woman would do. Negotiated for the lunchbox, then found my what-if guy online and made plans to see him the next night. One night only - that was the deal we made.

But one fantastic night had us both changing our minds in the morning. And making plans for another. Until I walked into the office to learn he just bought my company.

And here's the biggest rule of romantic legends - no matter what, don't bang your boss. Especially if you're already falling for him.

single dad second chance romance

I love this book. All the narrators did a fantastic job. I love duet style narrations.
Logan is the perfect guy. He has a great job, takes great care of his daughter and knows what he wants (😉). And when he meets Bryn their chemistry is hot, especially when they have their first date. The app they use to find each other should be one in real life.
This is a great standalone book. It does have characters in her past (and a future) books.
I would give a separate 5 stars for the POV from the cats. They are hilarious. Need more of this.
I can't wait to see whats next.

Another great audible!!

Joe and Andi are two of my favorites and when they’re narrating a book together it’s even better! I’ve done this series a bit backwards but it still worked for me and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed ALL of them! Wish I could give this more stars.

5 Holy Mother of Eye Contact Stars

One of the many things I LOVE about Lauren Blakely books is that there are these little nuggets that I pickup on while being completely and wholly entertained by her words and characters. In this case, there’s a vulnerability to Bryn that touched me on a very deep level. I so appreciate when this occurs in her books because it reflects real life and why we sometimes make the decisions we do.

Bryn and Logan meet one day over a Snoopy lunchbox and there’s a definite connection but before they can act upon this chemistry, life gets in the way. But thanks to social media and the fact that Bryn heads up the country’s top lifestyle website, she’s able to connect with Logan and let’s just say their connection is THROUGH THE ROOF hot!!! But alas, we soon discover that Logan isn’t a sexy and swoonworthy single dad, he’s also Bryn’s new boss!!

This puts a little curve in their road to getting together again, but sometimes rules are meant to be bent when there’s a connection such as these two have. Their chemistry is not only physical, which I love. There’s so much more to each of them and what they’re looking for in a relationship matches perfectly. I loved their double-entendres which were all sorts of sexy! And can we talk about Bruce and Queen LaTofu for a hot minute? These are truly the perfect names for these feline secondary characters and I found myself snort laughing while reading their entries into their diaries…I can so see cats talking like this because they are little dictators of sorts!!

The more I read this book the more I loved it. I loved how they want to find a solution to them being co-workers because when love comes along, you’re willing to do almost anything to “get the girl and/or guy” because you don’t want to miss out on what could be the greatest love of all time! And Logan’s daughter Amelia is a sweet and smart little girl that enhances this story so much. When you add in Fitz, Oliver, Summer and the people that work with Bryn this is a trifecta of a book and I’m not so patiently waiting for the audiobook to drop so I can get all this goodness in my ears!!

Fun and Sexy

All 9f the narrator were great. The addition of the cat's point of view was so creative and done well. Kudos to everyone involved.

Excellent except …

Certain areas of the story skipped or got warbled a little. It drove me nuts.

The What If Guy

I loved this book, from the meet to the chemistry to the conclusion it was exactly what I love about romance. Low on drama high on love and friendship and flirtation, I really just enjoyed these characters.

I also really liked that when a problem arises they come to a conclusion that works for both of them.

The cat POV’s, maybe if they were at the end of the book I don’t know it seemed to take me out of the story. I liked them but more as a side story thing. It cute sure but there was another book I read that had this and it just isn’t really my thing. And I LOVE cats. I don’t know I guess we all just like what we like.

The narrators were perfect. Joe and Andi are fantastic <3

One of my favorite single dad romances ever!

I adore this book!
I’m a sucker for a single dad romance and Lauren Blakely hits it out of the park with Logan and Bryn’s story. You get the humor, witty banter, and fantastic supporting characters that you love like with all of Ms. Blakely’s books, but there’s also a couple of saucy cats who steal the scene. The cameos in this book were making me laugh out loud.
I love multicasts books and while this one is primarily narrated by Joe Arden and Andi Arndt, the special appearances by Emma Wilder, Santino Fontana, and Connor Crais are amazing. Joe and Andi are the perfect narrators to portray Logan and Bryn.
The What If Guy is spicer than most of the books I’ve listened to by Lauren Blakely but it was a fun surprise and so hot! Joe and Andi’s chemistry is off the charts.
I would definitely recommend this book.

Great book. Cats steal the show

The story was fun with a cute romance, and a different story than all the other romances coming out today. I would give it a good review anyway because of the good story that kept me interested and good narration, but the cats! Those cats really steal the show. I could listen to a whole book with just those two cats talking about their “jailers” and their people. Especially since Bruce is voiced by one of my favorite narrators.
I highly recommend this to anyone who likes a fun romance with lots of sweetness and comedy!

Relatable, Witty, & Swoon-Worthy!

First off, I have found Lauren Blakely's books, every single one, FANTASTIC!
Secondly, how does this lady do it?!
I cannot stop reading/listening, she has captured this reader and made a longtime fan!

The way she ties each book together, even if it's just by the mentioning of a bar, it takes me back to the previous storyline or settings on what else played out there.
Finding love after divorce can be tricky, especially when there are kids involved. I have witnessed this a time or two, where either party despises each other and their children suffer as a result, or in situations such as this where everyone is grown-up and mutual. Love isn't always dramatic; love is wild, searching, yearning, tempting, forgiving. Love is love, and love is everywhere.

Awesome job from all narrators! Once again, Andi and Joe set the mood, the emotions, and give their readers exactly what they crave!
Having 2 cats myself I thought the storyline of the cats adorably funny and cunningly sweet. Santino and Emma tell the cat-life just right!

Always excited for the next one! Bring on 'A Guy Walks Into My Bar', I'm impatiently waiting!
