Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

A classic like this should be read with personality and Anne Hathaway does exactly that! I know the story; however, it's a pleasure hearing Anne change her voice per character. This is how I read stories to my grandchildren and that is what captivates them!

I love when Dorothy is meeting the scarecrow, tin man and lion.

Anne Hathaway read this superbly!

My 4 year olds first chapter book

This is a quirky little tale well narrated by Anne Hathaway. She did an excellent job changing her voice for each character and I found that it captivated my child's attention so that she could listen to 2 chapters at a time and asked for more. It was fanciful but not too complicated for a child to follow.

A delight to listen to!

Anne Hathaway makes full use of her talents as a voice actress in this audiobook. My 5 year old and I both enjoyed listening to this version - twice so far, and I’m sure she’ll request at least a few more listens. We both broke out laughing when Anne spoke in the voice of the stork! Definitely worth listening to.

Great Book Read by a Fun Actress

I have always loved the old Judy Garland Wizard of Oz movie and although I now know that the movie is not very faithful to the book, I still feel I can revere the movie as a cinematic marvel. That said, I feel the book is better. For one thing, the morales are more strongly portrayed in the book. The rest are the regular reasons, such as there is more information in the book.

Also, I really liked this particular Audible version read by Ms. Hathaway. She is a really talented voice actress!

the reading was well done! but the story...

The reading of the story was really well done. But I was a little surprised to find after the intro that they left a certain part in the story. the part about the tin man and his axe chopping off his limbs and splitting his body was too graphic/creepy for young listeners. the rest of the story was really well done and entertaining.
