Publisher's summary

I didn’t know bridesmaid was code for babysitter for the bride’s brother, but if that’s what my best friend needs of me for her dream wedding to go off without a hitch, that’s what I’ll do.

Even if Theo Monroe has been a pain in my rear since third grade.

Even if he should be responsible enough to not wreak havoc at his sister’s destination wedding.

Even if it means we have to share a hotel room in Hawaii, which might be the final duty that breaks me.

Not only does Theo know exactly how to push my buttons, but he never wears clothes, he’s hiding a litter of kittens in his room, and he keeps showing up with fresh-baked cookies that seemingly come from nowhere.

Also?

I have no idea what’s up with the tension between him and the groom.

Or why he’s so proud of the world’s strangest wedding gift.

Or why I suddenly want to know what makes him tick. The story behind his tattoos. How he can afford to rent a convertible in Hawaii. And if maybe all of that utter frustration and irritation I’ve felt for him for years is suppressed attraction that a good girl like me isn’t supposed to feel for the biggest bad boy of Snaggletooth Creek.

But I do know one thing.

When I find out his biggest secret and the answer to all of my questions, it will change everything.

The Worst Wedding Date is a frolicking good time of a destination-wedding enemies-to-lovers rom-com, complete with a good-girl bridesmaid, her best friend’s troublemaking but secretly bighearted brother, and more than one hitch on the way to happily ever after. It stands alone, has no cheating, and comes complete with ooey gooey goodness.

I laughed, I cried, I sneezed 😂

I loved this book. It had everything I love, humor, witty banter, steaminess, and good character development. Oh, and kittens! Give it a listen!

A 12 year olds dream man

Seriously, did the author poll a group of sixth graders to find out what their dream man was, and then make him the MMC? The book is OK, it’s entertaining, but I just kept rolling my eyes every time Theo was described, or every time he Did almost anything. (with the exception of his side hustle, and if I had to hear the word side hustle, one more time, I think I would’ve gouged my eyes out.)

Just Okay

I loved Ryan West in The Casanova and he was great in this story. Kit Swann was great too. The story just dragged about different they were and all the things that went wrong. There were parts that made me laugh out loud but I barely mustered my way through the end. She’s a great author but I was like “I get it. They’re really different and I don’t need another example.”

I am so in love with this listen!

I am a huge fan of Pippa Grant, and I have to say that this is definitely in the running for one of my absolute favorite Pippa Grant novels ever. Pippa Grant always writes characters that take a little piece of your heart, and Theo and Laney did just that. They are both so good, so loveable, so perfect for each other, but all they see are their own flaws, and not their true value.

For years, everyone in Theo's life has told him he's a screw up, and everyone has low expectations, low goals, and low opinions of him. But Theo is a tremendously kind-hearted, warm, loving and caring person. He just seems to attract trouble and odd coincidences. Laney has known him forever, but she's never had the opportunity to know the man that he's become. Laney, for her part, has realized that she's spent so much time living by the rules that she's been barely living. She wants to be more free, and who better to help her learn to live with her whole heart than Theo?

I absolutely loved this novel, Pippa Grant wrote two characters that are amazing, heartwarming, and pure joy. The narration, by Kit Swann and Ryan West, is just the perfect embodiment of these two characters. I love them so much.

Hilarious and fun! The sneezes! 🤣🤣

I thought this book was great. I am married to a roaringly loud sneezer. I have almost drove off the road from the severity and swiftness of the sneeze so don’t think there was any exaggeration there.

The book was fun and I loved all the hi-jinx and shenanigans.

The narrators did a good job. Emma’s voice was a little frustrating but I believe this was on purpose. Playing multiple voices can’t be easy when you’re trying to make each individual have their own voice and sound.

All of Pippa’s books have been fun, for the most part lighthearted. Realist? Not too much but if there is are real places like what she writes about, I’m moving there.

One of Pippa’s best

This is a go to good time. Will have you wondering what’s going to happen next. The sitting in your car listening to it while your husband wonders what the hell you’re doing in the driveway good.

Best reading

The book is awesome and the audio version brings it to life in the best way. Laughing out loud and getting looks from strangers was my new normal while listening to the book.

Fun & flirty take on the destination wedding

The BFF & brother of the bride have an epic enemies to co conspirators to lovers romance in the usual strange and hilarious Pippa Grant fashion.

Gave three stars for the performance bc the male narrator (who sounds like he would be the baby of Joe Arden & Sebastian York) had echo issues throughout the book and he’s not in my upper echelon of narrators.
The female narrator did really well throughout chapter transitions as to mood, intonations and inflections.

Overall it was worth the credit and now I’m off to start book 2 of the series.
