Publisher's summary

This is the sequel to The Other Sister, and it's highly recommended you listen to it prior to The Years Between.

The five years between when Jessie and Will Hendricks get back together and when they have their daughter are unforgettable years that travel from one side of the country to the next and deal with the issues that have for so long kept them separated. Their journey to get together has been anything but easy, but now they finally have the time and freedom to build a full and complete life together. The way they started, the life they led in between, and the life they end up with is a journey that tests the love they have found and defines the love they are destined to share forever.

Loved it!

I loved getting to see more of Will and Jessie. We really get to see them being together and working through how to be together. They do not have an easy road and have things that they have to figure out how to deal with and what works for them. They want normal and they have to figure out what normal is and what normal looks like for them. I loved watching these two with their strength and the way they move forward to tackle life now that they are together. It isn’t easy and they have some setbacks for sure but we get to see them find those steps forward and refuse to give up. I loved that this story was over a long time period as it made it all more real and believable. I loved how Leann Davis handled the hard topics within this story. Definitely looking for meats to the rest of the series.

In-between

Ok so after reading the first book I had to read this book.
I needed to know more about their story.

I am so glad I did. This book really shows the after effects and that not everything is peachy. How can it be after her whole life being the way it was.
I think what I underestimated was Will, and how everything had affected him.
I mean we know Jessie is having a heck of a time. She gets help then thinks Will is dead or lost. So she kind of goes dark and reverts back in her head which is understandable. But I underestimated how Will had to deal with everything. Not only seeing and hearing but not being able to do anything about it without getting them both killed.
So yeah that was hard for me to read. I think what really helped Jessie was Bella and her husband getting to know them and seeing that not all men are like those other men. And that she can be friends with someone that didn't want something back from her.
Also to see and understand that cutting is a lifelong issue you're never really cured she will probably struggle with it for the rest of her life.

As you can see these 2 books really stuck with me. I just had so very many feels.

Honest review.. .great read of a tragic story..

If you could sum up The Years Between in three words, what would they be?

Tragic, Revenge and romance

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Years Between?

The character of Will does a complete change. However, we see new sides to Will. He looses control a little and as a person invested in this journey of these people it is nice to see how he grows and shapes as a "Normal" person.

What about Brittany Pressley’s performance did you like?

There are always pros and cons to every performance regardless of the person performing. She does a great job making the character have their own sound, tone and characteristics. She sometimes sounds seductive when it is the most tragic parts of the book.

However, she keeps a great pace, tone, and speaks clearly. She does a great job overall.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Like the first book, this series has many emotions. You will laugh, cry, be angry, and perhaps all emotions at once. These books are nicely structured and presented well by the author.

The content of the book can easily be graphic and hard to endure. However, the sensitive topics are presented as tastefully as it can be without taking away from the story.

Any additional comments?

These books are not for the faint of heart. If you easily offended by swearing, adult content, and graphic material probably not the book for you. However, if you can invest yourself into the characters and understand their story along with their hardships you will be rewarded with a great book.

Difficult topics include but not limited to: Rape, murder, suicide, revenge....

Life happens;you love and live it

Great book dealing with the dynamics of two people from different backgrounds both raised in trumatic dysfunctional families.
I did not care for the narrator reading all the parts. Hearingg a male's voice would have better for the male parts
