Critic reviews

"One would expect the son of Mel Brooks to have a genetic predisposition to humor, and indeed, he does, and he exhibits it relentlessly here." (Publishers Weekly)

CM begat ZM

His father, Mel, must truly be proud. Comedy Master begat Zombie Master, that should be their entry in the Book of Numbers.

Great read. Get and stay prepared.

Having a bug out bag and weapons shouldn't seem so outlandish in today's world, anyway.

Better Than Expected

I was hesitant to listen to this at first, because since I have read the paperback edition I was leery about how well it would translate into audio form. I didn't have to be. This was as fun the second time around as it was the first time I read it, and I especially enjoyed the parts at the end that included "true" stories from Brooks' zombie world.

Unmatchable entertainment

There can be only one, and this is it. Is this a found footage book? Can there be such a thing? I had never before read its like. Also, very inspiring, because I have seen so many elements introduced in this book appear in derivative works too numerous to mention. This is what happens when your intellectual property becomes so prevalent it is ubiquitous. Why is such an unconventional piece of fiction so compelling? Is it just the novel framing device of making it a self help guide? I think not. I think Max Brooks is worried about zombies. Marc Cashman, the narrator, does a great job.

Simply put, loved it. But what's there not to love about Zombies? Great for a long commute.

OMG!

This reads like a book of stereo instructions, very helpful, indeed the monotone voice and the steady reading helped in concentration of each topic. the only thing that was left out in my opinion was the fact that zombies we're not automatones or some sort of fleshy mindless androids but in fact demon possessed bodies that were almost impossible to kill and moved as fast as lightning with their whole purpose treat the human and destroy the spirit of course they couldn't do that but I would have liked to see a chapter on that a chapter on the zombies mentioned in the bible under other names as in Zechariah 14:12, Isaiah 26, Revelations chapter 20 in chapter 9 and so on and so on. But who am I but a nobody who feels that the plague is coming world War 3 will be bad but not half as bad as what's coming after that. Zombies have been glamorize by Hollywood and people have been conditioned to believe that they stand a chance with the proper preparation. When in fact zombies will be the final program that will wipe out humanity.
