Publisher's summary

A perfect murder...a faceless witness...a lone courtroom champion knows the whole truth....and he’s only 13 years old.

Meet Theodore Boone. In the small city of Strattenburg, there are many lawyers, and though he’s only 13, Theo Boone thinks he’s one of them. Theo knows every judge, policeman, court clerk - and a lot about the law. He dreams of being a great trial lawyer, of a life in the courtroom.

But Theo finds himself in court much sooner than expected. Because he knows so much - maybe too much - he is suddenly dragged into the middle of a sensational murder trial. A cold-blooded killer is about to go free, and only Theo knows the truth. The stakes are high, but Theo won’t stop until justice is served.

Brimming with the intrigue and suspense that made John Grisham a number-one international best-seller and the undisputed master of the legal thriller, Theodore Boone: Kid Lawyer will keep listeners guessing.

Even For Adults

This is a great new venture for John Grisham. I am glad he has gone back to his lawyer stories and the viewpoint from a teenage mind is wonderful. The characters are true and the narration well done. It is a quick and easy listen, great beach fare.

What made the experience of listening to Theodore Boone: Kid Lawyer the most enjoyable?

I was afraid it would not hold my attention, but I loved the characters and can't wait to read more.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Theodore Boone of course. He's not your regular kid and I love his passion for the law.

Meeting with clients in his office, an old supply closet.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Fiercly protective of his clients. They come first.

a little hard to follow, but overall pretty good

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

My 10 year old son read this book and I think it was worth the read because he loved the first book "the accused" and can't wait to read "the abduction".

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

He says the beginning was really slow and hard to follow but became more interesting towards the middle of the story.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

He thinks the narrator did a good job.

Was Theodore Boone: Kid Lawyer worth the listening time?

yes

Great all around!

Great book for kids and adults alike. Richard Thomas is like revisiting an old friend. He’s the best narrator in audible books.
A branch out from typical Grisham but still with the law based feel. I love them all and will probably listen a few times.

Grisham With a Good Ending! Honest!!!

Grisham has gotten at least one foot off his liberal soapbox, swallowed some of his cynicism, and written a thoughtful and perceptive "feel good" story. The author has crawled inside the mind of Theo Boone, a generous and very precocious thirteen year old in love with the law and passionate about helping people. He just did not expect to be involved in catching a murderer. Theodore Boone will steal your heart whether you are thirteen or thirty-nine! When I need to relax, I re-listen to several chapters. Write a sequel, John.
