Mark, Todd, and Zola came to law school to change the world, to make it a better place. But now, as third-year students, these close friends realize they have been duped. They all borrowed heavily to attend a third-tier, for-profit law school so mediocre that its graduates rarely pass the bar exam, let alone get good jobs. And when they learn that their school is one of a chain owned by a shady New York hedge-fund operator who also happens to own a bank specializing in student loans, the three know they have been caught up in The Great Law School Scam.

An entertaining story
If you could sum up Theodore Boone: The Accused in three words, what would they be?
Comfortable, Entertaining, Surprising
What other book might you compare Theodore Boone: The Accused to and why?
Well, the book is the second in a series, so naturally, it reminded me of the first book, "Theodore Boone, Kid Lawyer". It also reminds me of the old "Hardy Boys" mysteries.
Which character – as performed by Richard Thomas – was your favorite?
I enjoy his performance of all the characters but Theodore's Uncle Ike is my favorite.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
For me, this wasn't a book of extremes. It's a nice, entertaining story. I lughed at some of Theodore's observations about the grown ups in his life. The author writes this series with young readers in mind, so I know I am not the target audience. I enjoyed it very much in spite of that. I think it is the sort of book that a parent and child could both read and then discuss without either one being bored.
Any additional comments?
I really enjoy the characters that the author has created for this series and I look forward to finding out more about them.

Liked Harry Potter better, but Theodore is great!
What made the experience of listening to Theodore Boone: The Accused the most enjoyable?
The narrator is very good and the story is classic Grisham. Sure, it is a kids story, but so is Harry Potter. The real hero of the story is Ike, Theodore's disbarred-lawyer uncle. He figures out who committed the crime and put Theo on the trail. Theo has to make a moral decision about whether to look in a computer system at his parents' law office.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Theodore Boone: The Accused?
Theo's parents, teachers, school administrators and scoutmaster all believed in him, even when the cops acted like he was guilty.
Have you listened to any of Richard Thomas’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
The narrator is great and he has just the right touch for The Theodore Boone series.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Nothing extreme. It was just fun entertainment. However, we did have to ask ourselves whether Ike was giving his nephew good advice.

John Grisham from a different perspective
What did you love best about Theodore Boone: The Accused?
I liked the way Theodore approached the challenges to solve the problem.
What did you like best about this story?
It kept my interest all the way to the end.
What about Richard Thomas’s performance did you like?
When I listen to Richard Thomas I think of Walton's John Boy. He performs without drawing attention to himself.

JOHN GRISHAM
These books are by John Grisham and really not much more needs to be said. I love Theo and his care for others. Uncle Ike is just an all around great fellow. Theo's parents are cool and is Judge. These are a quick listen, involved, books. I truly wish there were more in the series.

The Best Theo Yet
Would you consider the audio edition of Theodore Boone: The Accused to be better than the print version?
N/A
Who was your favorite character and why?
Judge Gantry -- great character. Fully in control, very stern on the outside, but with a sense of humor on the inside.
What does Richard Thomas bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Thomas brings a balanced presentation and good expression. I think I probably would have missed both just reading the print version.

Good, Fun Listening.
What made the experience of listening to Theodore Boone: The Accused the most enjoyable?
My kids aged 11 loved the reference to previous book of John Grisham and how it flowed into the next book. The author does a neat job of connecting the accused with the actual guilty part. Not scary, so no parts that my kids freak out on. they just hate getting out of the car
What was one of the most memorable moments of Theodore Boone: The Accused?
I think it was time with Ike, Theo's uncle. He gives lots of good leads that make things more fun.
What about Richard Thomas’s performance did you like?
Richard Thomas has a wonderful voice that captures the feeling of the book as if you were there. He speaks slowly when reinforcing or teaching a new concept so my kids have time to let it sink in.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Dunno
Any additional comments?
This book had excitement, drama, and humor all neatly packaged by Grisham and delivered by Richard Thomas. A really nice combo. We just listened to The Activist and are really disappointed there aren't any other books of his in the series.
